Bio: Lets talk about the man known as the Goblin, this runner has served inside the Unforgiven from the earliest days and has seen the worst the world can throw at him. This man not only prevailed through all the adversity he excelled and has become stronger because of it, the Goblin is the Roadrunner’s most trusted advisor and friend. This man has stood by his side from day one and even when his brother in arms faced certain death at the hands of the UCAS (United Canadian American States) the Goblin disobeyed direct orders and sought out assistance to mount a rescue operation for his friend and brother. The Goblin has forsaken having a family of his own, in order to serve the order and stand by his friends side till the end, the Goblin will never again allow anyone to betray the Unforgiven or the Roadrunner again and he won’t rest till the betrayer James O’Brian feels the sting of his blade, if you see the Roadrunner you can bet your ass that the Goblin is somewhere near and this is one mercenary you never want to tangle with.
Goblin has served for decades under the Roadrunner and before the arrival of James O’Brian into their squad in the summer of 2015 the Goblin was the Roadrunners right hand man, even after the arrival of the Ghost he still was his most trusted and loyal friend. Though military protocol meant that the Goblin had to step down as the second seeing the James outranked him. When the Unforgiven where shipped off to Vietnam for there ill fated mission the Goblin managed to keep his friend alive and even took a bullet meant for the Roadrunner rendering the Goblin out of action till he received proper medical and magical healing. This man never trusted the Ghost and he was able to see through his façade, he was able to see that the Ghost was nothing more then a wolf in sheep’s clothing and when everything went south for the Unforgiven the Ghost was just bidding his time. The Goblin kept a very close eye on him, he knew the Roadrunner was a trusting man and would believe that anyone within his command would wish to cause harm or become a Benedict Arnold. So the Goblin just kept his mouth shut, but his eyes and ears open and for this we are thankful, his instincts paid off and he was able to become a true hero and rescue his dear friend, though the Goblin does blame himself for not dealing with the Ghost when he had the chance in Vietnam and preventing the tragedy and unnecessary lose of life that the Ghost caused when he plunged the dagger into the Roadrunners back in April of 2045.
This man being a master of stealth and infiltration was able to intercept many of the radio calls between the Ghost and the brass in DC during their time in Vietnam while they where supposedly under a radio blackout, he could hear the Ghost receiving mission updates and giving the brass troop movements and locations of the multiple squads. He overheard many conversations stating that he would one day be welcome within the hallowed halls of the Pentagon and he is living up to his families legacy. This was all the information he needed to put an end to the Ghost and save countless men from being slaughtered by an ambush, but he knew all he had was hear say and if he killed the Ghost he would seem like a criminal in his dear friend’s eyes and his life would be forfeit. So he holstered his side arm and hoped one day the Ghost would slip up and leave some concrete evidence behind that could not be ignored. From that day forward the Goblin kept a close eye on the Ghost and waited for his chance to strike and remove that snake in grass from the planets face.
By the time the Unforgiven had struck the civilian compound the Goblin had fully confirmed the Ghosts deception and this entire mission was nothing more then a set up, he figured out that the brass back in DC needed an international incident for some dastardly plan of theirs and the Roadrunner had walked right into their trap. He hoped  that the Ghost would slip up and start acting suspicious and this would allow for the Goblin to plant that ever needed seed of doubt in his friends mind. Though what the Goblin didn’t foresee was that the Ghost would fall right in line and put on one hell of a performance that even was beginning to fool the Goblin. Though his disdain for the Ghost kept him focused and every time he would start to doubt the man he would remember those radio calls and his focus would return. Even when the Goblin found a tracking locater on the plane they had commandeered he knew that was not enough evidence to hang the Ghost, since the Roadrunners trusting nature would believe that the locater was already there placed by the ambassador’s security detail as a precaution.
During the flight home the Goblin had destroyed the transmitter aboard their plane and had radioed over to the others to search the plane for additional locators and even giving them direct locations to begin the search. On the return trip, the Ghost had plenty of time to further succour his supposed friendship with the Roadrunner and all the Goblin could do was sit by and watch as the Ghost sunk his claws into the Roadrunner and by the time the battle over the California beaches occurred and all on board jumped into battle stations with the Roadrunner in the tail-gunner seat he cold not see that the Ghost was purposely over shooting and being a direct hindrance in the battle. The Goblin was forced to compensate for the Ghosts lacklustre and indirectly make the Ghost look better even though the Goblin was only trying to save his own skin and keep the men he served with and his friend alive.
For the Goblin the worst experience came once they landed in the Nevada desert and where forced to slaughter American citizens out of fear of the authorities and the need of the vehicles. The Goblin, Merlin and Pluto noticed that the Ghost was over shooting and none of his bullets ever landed on target sadly the Roadrunner didn’t notice since he was shooting in the opposite direction and once again the Goblin had a perfect opportunity to assassinate the Ghost and he didn’t take it since the civilians where not returning fire, friendly fire would be the only explanation and this would upset and anger his friend. Though he knew in his heart the Ghost was up to something and the battle over California was nothing more then a set up and why would the only plane containing the transports be shoot down and the others left to escape. Something didn’t smell right to the Goblin and the arrival of these civilians was not part of his plan, when the Roadrunner and the Ghost went off to succour supplies, transport and shelter the Goblin objected and requested to join the two officers. The Ghost interjected and ordered the Goblin to stand down and remain with the planes and the other men, the Roadrunner didn’t see anything wrong with this plan and he followed suit.
During the many hours that the Ghost and the Roadrunner where away, the Goblin scoured the Ghosts gear looking for anything that he could use against this traitor and bring to the Roadrunners attention. Though nothing was found and Ghost had covered his tracks well and this only further frustrated the Goblin, he just began to speak ill about their Lieutenant and hope that other men had become distrustful of the Ghost and had seen what he had seen. Though for the Goblin most of the men where just as blind as the Roadrunner and even those that had seen him fail in killing the civilians had a rational explanation behind his missing. The Goblin knew at this point that he was going to have to extra vigilant and stick to the Roadrunner like glue, he knew that it was only a matter of time before the Ghost made his move and revealed his hand and hopefully it wouldn’t be to late by that point. After many hours the two officers returned with a fleet of vehicles and the old fixer known as Old Jack, bringing with them the good news of an abandoned town and place to store the planes and succour as there base of operations. The men at this point where ecstatic and all just fell back in line like all good soldiers and the Roadrunner felt like he had done his men proud; though the Goblin was concerned and was growing weary of the Ghost and only hoped he would slip up or be alone just long enough for him to feel the sting of the Goblins blade.
Over the course of following years, the Goblin spent this time learning about the events that had transpired on the homeland and passing this information on to his fellow soldiers, he knew the Roadrunner had been informed as they had begun one of there many campaigns against the local native population, though through further research the Goblin did while inside Las Vegas he began to learn further information behind the events that led up to the Great Ghost Dance and the arrival of the False Flag, he learned about the tragedy that had befell the unit known as the Minutemen and the haunting similarities to the Unforgiven. He learned about the executions of the countries media personalities and the actions of General Archer and his Devil Dogs in Montana. He learned about the actions of War Zone and his assassinations of the nations highest leaders and his defection into the Freedom Patriots, for the Goblin was being debriefed by one of Colonials Rough Riders, a man simply known as the Puppet Master. With all the information that the Goblin was being given he was putting the pieces of the puzzle together and what was emerging disturbed the Goblin as he was able to see the forest for the trees and the Ghosts true plan was slowly revealing itself as more and more information was being exposed. The Goblin knew that he needed to do something soon or everything they were doing would be in vain as the Ghost was setting them up to take the fall with each subsequent attack and raid on the native people.
The Goblin even tried the direct approach by sitting the Roadrunner down and attempting to debrief him as the Puppet Master had done for him, though each time the Ghost would either enter the room, tent, fire ring or just be within direct ear shot. The Goblin knew that the Ghost must have been onto him and he would not allow the two men to have a moment alone. With the Goblin being only a non commissioned officer the Ghost could and would always pull rank to keep the two friends apart. Forever keeping the Roadrunner in the dark till the day when all would revile itself. Everything grew even more bothersome for the Goblin when his friend would fall for a young Vegas women and they would eventually marry and begin to raise a family in the boarder town of Searchlight, this was a downward spiral as a vast majority of the men where beginning to establish families and take up full residence inside Searchlight. The Goblin knew that it was only a mater of time before the Ghost would play his final hand and not only would the Unforgiven be in jeopardy but innocent women and children would be put at risk.
The Roadrunner was within his rights to allow the men to have their families within Searchlight, since it was a base and throughout history the military would allow families at a headquarters. Though the Goblin knew that this would further the Ghosts plan and make it seem like they had kidnapped and where holding the women and children there against their will to the nation via the media. As the years went by the Goblin put together a counterstrike plan into motion and would garner the assistance from the Puppet Master and some of his men, he would establish a secret desert base just outside of Searchlight and keep a radio channel open to the local Sons of Liberty chapter near by and he as well employed a local detective and decker by the name of Dakota Bertram to monitor the airwaves and keep tabs on the Ghost. Knowing that the Ghost would never suspect an outside man of being a spy for the Unforgiven, and the Goblin knew that he needed to hire a man skilled in the computer arts since the Ghost was well versed in counter computer security and would be able to quickly deal with any decker of the Unforgiven.
Through the work of the Goblin and his private security and counterstrike division he was able to gather enough concrete evidence of the Ghosts tyranny and the fact that he was a traitor to the cause and to the Unforgiven, the only problem for the Goblin was that this evidence came in to late and as he was on his way to confront the Roadrunner and bring an end to the Ghost once and for all. The Ghosts final play was exposed, the town of Searchlight was overrun by the UCAS (United Canadian American States) military and federal agents all armed with arrest warrants and heavy fire power. The government had zero intention of following procedure and those warrants where just for show, the Goblin was cut off from arriving at his friends home when the military open fired on the Unforgiven, the gun shots echoed through the cool spring evening air, before long the town erupted in a a hail of gunfire, explosions and bodies on both sides began to litter the streets as Americans where killing Americans once again and Goblin raised his riffle and took to the fight, soon he was joined by the Roadrunner and the Unforgiven where fighting for their sheer existence and freedom. The Roadrunner gave the order to the Goblin to fall back to Vegas and then he charged forward. The Goblin began to fall back as ordered he then went to call for stage two on his radio to Bertram when a grenade exploded near the Goblin and he was sent reeling backwards under a barrage of shrapnel and dirt. He crawled his way out of the town only to see that the Ghost had already captured the Roadrunner, Old Jack and five of the Unforgiven’s Sargents. He also so more then half of the units men board the military vehicles and drive off into the night, the Goblin drew his side arm and loaded a tracking bullet, while laying on the ground his vision clouded with blood, dirt, dust and smoke he aimed for the rear of the truck that the Roadrunner was loaded into and pulled the trigger. With a load bang he was able to see the sparks of the trucks armour knowing he had hit his mark, he only hoped that he would be able to maintain the signal and that the beacon would not be detected.
The Goblin slowly pulled himself to his feet, breaking off a piece of the the wooden banister to use as a makeshift cane, he slowly limped onto the know vacant main street. Fires burned in the homes, cars and trucks lay in wreckage, the old general store and gas station nothing but a shell and countless bodies littered the dirt and gravel street, as the Goblin struggled to breath from the shrapnel that was lodged in his side and back the acrid smoke burned his nose and lungs that rose from many of the buildings that still stood. He just stood there in shock and disbelief, he scanned the scene only to see death and carnage, many of his friends lay dead on the street, his friend was captured and the Goblin just blamed himself; he could have prevented this many years ago, he could have simply killed the Ghost and none of this would have occurred. The Goblin knew that any surviving Unforgiven would have heard the Roadrunners fall back order and would be inside Las Vegas and safe and sound with the Puppet Master. But for the Goblin his mission was just beginning and he would not rest till he rescued the Roadrunner or at least retrieved his friends body for a proper burial. He slowly walked towards one of the burning buildings to retrieve the armoured transport stored inside, the Goblin pushed the burning debris aside and walked through fire and flame opened the drivers side door, he climbed in. The pain from the shrapnel tore through his body as it pushed deeper into his flesh cutting and tearing into him as he sat down and turned the ignition, he put the tuck in gear and pushed down on the accelerator. The trucks engine roared to life as it burst through the garage doors, causing the burning building to collapse in on itself. The Goblin made a hard left hand turn and tore down the main street till he was outside the town and on the back desert road, the Goblin was heading straight for the makeshift base he had set up with the Puppet Master and Detective Bertram.
Once he arrived at the base, the Goblins injuries were severe and he was loosing blood and if he did’t receive medical attention quickly he would expire. As he brought the truck to a stop, the Goblin opened the door and just fell out of the vehicle no longer able to stave off the injuries and pain, the adrenaline had run it’s course and his old body had been pushed the the brink. The men at the base jumped into action and brought the Goblin inside the makeshift base, he was given basic medical attention and after a few hours he had regained consciousness. The Goblin still in extreme pain told the men what had gone down, and that they had captured the Roadrunner and come hell or high water they were going on a rescue operation. They tried to tell the Goblin that he was in no condition to attempt any rescue let alone move, they said the only place he was going would be to a hospital. The Goblin turned to them and said to hell with that, the Roadrunner needs my help and the Ghost needs to feel my blade and he threw himself of the bed grabbing the auto-injector that was loaded with stimulants and combat juice and before they could stop him he slammed the auto-injector into his outer thigh till it read empty. The Goblin had just injected himself with a enough stimulant, and combat juice to cause a trolls heart to explode, he clenched his jaw grabbed the radio put out a SOS and made his way out to the transport. he barked to the soldiers there “You are either with me or you are against me!” the men cowed by the presence of the Goblin, grabbed their weapons and boarded the transport.
The Goblin pulled the locater out of his pocket and drove off into the night towards the flashing signal, The Goblin drove through the night only slowing down to inject himself with another dose of the combat juice, till the early morning hours just after dawn. When he could see the scene off in the distance, his friends tied to the poles, dressed in prison jumpsuits and as he was exiting the vehicle the air erupted in a loud bang and smoke rose to heavens from the soldiers barrels he saw them all slump forward after being executed. Rage filled the Goblins heart as he saw the Ghost in the UCAS Army uniform and firing a single shot into each of the condemned’s heads as a final blow. The Goblin took aim on the Ghost as he lowered his weapon to the head of the Roadrunner, the Goblin pulled the trigger and do to the clouded vision and drugs that coursed through his body he missed his target but he did hit the pistol in the Ghosts hand. Goblin cursed and gave the order to engage. As the Goblin and his men charged forward shots rang out from behind the execution poles, the military forces where being cut to ribbons as the Goblin took aim once again at the fleeing Ghost, pulling the trigger BANG the Ghost grabbed his shoulder and fell to the ground and was dragged away to safety by two of his men. Meanwhile over by the fallen men the Roadrunner was gasping for air as his blood poured out of his body and he looked more like a morbid fountain then a man. One of the soldiers that was approaching from behind the poles ran over to the only obviously surviving prisoner. He threw his riffle to the side, removed a medical patch from his jacket pocket and drew his combat knife in a single motion he cut the jump suit and slapped the patch onto the open wound. He then pulled an odd looking crystal out of his pocket and clenched his hand around it placing his other hand on the open wound. The Roadrunners eyes where beginning to roll back as his life was fleeting then suddenly the Goblin saw the Roadrunners head jerk back and he gasped for air. He heard the combat magi scream he’s alive for know, we need to get to the hospital. With that the drugs that where coursing through the Goblins body had ran there course and he to had once again became overtaken by his wounds. The Goblin fell face down into the sand and dirt and was fading quickly, he was in dire need of medical aid as well and lucky for the Goblin he had medics near him who dragged his downed body out of the desert and into the truck and took him to the hospital.
The Goblin recovered from his wounds long before the Roadrunner did and though he even being able to return to the remaining Unforgiven he chose not to and remained at the hospital staying by his friends side, though he knew the Roadrunner needed to focus on his recovery so he watched his friends back from the shadows and by the time Colonial arrived to offer the Roadrunner membership into the Sons of Liberty he was ambushed in the hallway by the Goblin. Colonials guards tried to stop the Goblin but he made quick work of them and with there subdued bodies laying at the feet of the Goblin, Colonial was caught off guard for the first time in his life (also the last time in his life). The Goblin demanded to know who he was and what his intentions where with the Roadrunner, Colonial introduced himself to an enraged Goblin; this seemed to be enough information for the Goblin as he took a step back, and apologized for striking his guards. Colonel just tilted his head and said “You must be the Goblin I have heard so much about.” The Goblin replied “Yes, and I am never going to let anything ever happen to that man again.” Colonial “Understood my good man, we are all on the same side here, you need to worry.” Goblin “You have to understand what we have been through, there is trust issues with anyone who is not one of us.” Colonial “I do understand Goblin, and thats why I am here, I was looking for you as well.” Colonial “I have been looking to offer you a place inside my Sons of Liberty, I am hear to extend to offer to your friend the Roadrunner.” Goblin “Well Sir, if the Roadrunner accepts, I accept.” Goblin “I do hope you don’t mind if I stick around out here and keep your sleeping guards company.” Colonial “As you wish, well if you would excuse me I have to discuss business with the Roadrunner.” and with that he dusted off his suit and straitened his tie opened the door and entered the room. The Goblin just leaned against the wall outside the Roadrunners door, scoffing at the sleeping guards. Though he kept his keen ears open and eavesdropped on the conversation going on in the room. Once the Goblin heard Colonial confirm the Roadrunner as a member of the Sons of Liberty. He waited for Colonial to exit the room before he just looked at the man stern faced and just said two words “I’m in.” and then the Goblin vanished before Colonials eyes.
The Goblin returned to the remaining Unforgiven and told them of the Roadrunners rescue and survival, he also told them that the Roadrunner and himself had joined the Sons of Liberty and how much it would mean to the Roadrunner if the remaining brothers as well joined the good fight, and that things will be back to the way it should have been. He would be the Roadrunners right hand once again and the poison of the Ghost has been cleansed of the Unforgiven. We shall hunt that bastard till the ends of the earth, we shall never let that bastard have a moments rest and we shall bring an end to everything that man holds dear in this world. The remaining men rallied around the Goblin and they began to drink and await the valiant return of there wayward commander. Once the Roadrunner returned he saw the Goblin and the men and a smile came across his face, little does the Roadrunner know to what extent the Goblin played in his survival and till today he never did know. (Sorry Goblin, your a hero and he deserves to know)
Over the years the Goblin has become a serious force to be reckoned with, though he still struggles with his addiction to combat juice, this man has never allowed himself to settle down and start a family of his own. The Goblin and the remaining members of the Unforgiven have become one of the most dedicated and deadly specialist units within the Sons of Liberty, theses men have lost everything and like the phoenix they have rose from the ashes stronger then ever before. Time has not been kind to this unit, the countless years of fighting and with war being the only thing they know the Unforgiven have had to bury many of their numbers though the ages. They have all either never started a family or have been forced to walk way from their wives and children to keep them safe. The Unforgiven have many enemies within the False Flag and these men will not allow their families to become a victim of the war they have nothing to do with.
The Goblin has become the self appointed guardian of the Roadrunner and will never leave that man’s side, if he even senses a possible threat to his friend, the Goblin will act first then deal with the consequences. He has little care for sparing life and he see’s everyone as a possible traitor to the cause and a threat to Old Glory, for the Goblin those that support the False Flag don’t deserve to share the same air as he does, those that support the False Flag in Goblins eyes are no better then the Ghost and he will have no issue about driving his sword through them before speaking with them. The Goblin’s mind and soul has been shattered do to everything he has been through, he is tormented by nightmares and sleepless nights this man is being haunted by the ghosts of his past and he blames himself for everything that went down in Searchlight back in 2045 and for all the countless deaths that could have been avoided. The Goblin is a tormented hero and he will never again allow for the remaining Unforgiven to fall victim to betrayal. So please proceed with caution around this man, he is dangling precariously on the edge of sanity and if was to fall God Help Us All.
                                                                                                                                                                                           Page Written By: Snoopy
