Bio: His name is Griffon and he is the man that brings honour to the world of the hired gun, he holds a true code of honour and sense of duty to the uniform that he wears. Griffon might be a soldier of fortune and work within the grey area of the law, but he maintains the true code of the soldier and follows the traditional rules of engagement. He will never commit cold blooded murder and he will never endanger a civilian if he can help it, and even when forced to enter a civilian location he will do his best to evacuate the innocent before the bullets start flying. Griffon once served within the United Canadian American States military and was trained in close quarters combat and guerilla warfare, though he would spend a vast majority of his time serving behind a desk within the command centre do to an injury he sustained during a mission in the Congo.
Griffon was a third generation soldier and officer, with both his father and grandfather serving before him he felt this call of duty as a young child and was groomed for the military from an early age. He went to the best military academies, served within the ROTC during college and was active in the scouts as a youth making Eagle Scout at the young age of fourteen. Griffon had his entire life predestined and his path was forged for him, by his father who was a highly decorated officer and well liked by many in the political world. Griffon would enter the military as an officer after college, he would have everything laid out before him, a career, a wife, and the American dream. He would be married to his neighbourhood sweetheart just after he graduated college and once he signed the dotted line he would sell his soul and body to Uncle Sam for the long haul.
He originally signed the paperwork and joined the military for the combat division, he wanted the honour of fighting for his country like his grandfather and father before him, though his degree and training would make him more qualified to crunch the numbers and sit behind a desk as an annalist over a infantry officer. Though the powers that be are always in need of a dough boy and would never turn away someone who was volunteering for combat, so Griffon would be sent off to basic, then Officer Candidacy School and finally Advanced Infantry Training before being assigned to a division and deployed to active hot spots throughout the world to help police the worlds villains, while trying to spread the ideals of democracy to developing nations that where unprepared or unable to handle the aspects of a democratic society thus creating further conflicts and furthering the cycle of violence.
For Griffon he was not satisfied just commanding a base line infantry division and wanted more, he knew he was destined for greatness, and he serving within the special forces is where he knew he had to go. This was going to be a drastic change for him and his now growing family, as an officer in a infantry division he was often deployed for months if not years at a time. This was taking it’s toll on his wife and his children that where growing up without a father, his wife living in fear of receiving that call all military spouses fear. So when he announced his plans to volunteer for the special forces and thus putting himself in further danger, his beloved nearly lost her mind and the two argued for weeks until it was time for Griffon to leave for his training. Even Mr. Park doesn’t know why she stayed with him after the huge fight, but she did and thus his family grew seeing that she had become pregnant during this period. Griffon would go off to Ranger school and then receive further specialised training and eventually joining the Green Berets where Mr. Park would meet up with his squad mate Jack Malone. It would be on a operation with the Berets that would dramatically alter the course of Griffon’s life and end his days in a combat unit.
Unfortunately the details of that mission within the Congo are highly classified and unavailable to the public, yes the information might be out there but I am not risking breaching the Pentagons system and I can’t afford the cost of employing a decker to manage this task. So I will have to work with the information that is known and when it comes to Mr. Park he was severely wounded during this operation and suffered a nearly career ending spinal injury. This injury normally would sideline most men and cause them to enter the private sector and go about the rest of their days suffering, though for Griffon his resolve and his education would make him viable for continued service working within command and sitting behind a desk for the remainder of his career. This was a breath of fresh air for his wife and children, seeing that he would be home daily and not being sent off to some dangerous combat zone anymore, though for Griffon this was torture and the once specially trained combat hero was now nothing more then a pencil pusher and just wasting away as the years slowly ticked by till his retirement. Promotions no longer came his way and he would eventually just wither away and become nothing more then the forgotten analyst, he would eventually retire at the rank of major and receive little more then pat on the back after 30 years of dedicated service to his country.
Now why would a man that was injured and suffering from severe pain and crippling nerve damage ever dream of becoming a soldier of fortune, and not just retire comfortably with his pension and move to a safe suburb with his wife and family to live out the rest of his days in safety and security. Well this is where the United Canadian American States will show there evil side and might actually give credence to the claims made by the rebels about the tyranny of the False Flag. It seems that according to records and documents that have been released by former solider and the documents that were made public by former Senator Grant during his time with the Armed Services Committee. It seems that during the operation in the Congo, Griffon saw something that he shouldn’t have and so did the remainder of the team. One by one Griffon’s old squad mates would turn up dead in mysterious manners and only Jack Malone and Stewart Park would survive, Malone we know vanished only to emerge here in Seattle inside the District Attorney’s Office and Park would remain working for the same people that were slowly killing off the men he served with in the Congo. Though for Park, his execution date had already been predetermined and the military was unwilling to assassinate him while he was useful and not making waves. Once his usefulness expired so did his stay of execution and now retired and withered from his injuries and years spent behind a desk, the military felt that the good Major would be an easy mark.
So on a cold December evening in 2050 Griffon was home sleeping in his bed with his wife, bundled up in the blankets as the grandchildren slept peacefully down the hall. It was an early evening for the Parks since they had church service in the morning, Mr. Park was blissfully asleep under the powerful chemicals of the sleeping pills he took nightly to keep the demons at bay and allow him to rest. Tough these pills would also render Mr. Park in a very deep slumber and thus almost sentence him to death when the government assassin would silently enter his home to execute his death sentence. So as the snow began to fall outside, and the Parks rested blissfully everything laid out for the morning and alarm clocks set so they wouldn’t be late for service, though on this evening the Parks would not be in attendance on that morning. Stewart Park would be awoken by a stinging sensation within his hip as well as the deep chill that would run through his body as is blood spilled from the wounds he had received. Mr Park didn’t even notice the gaping wound to his arm. The nerve damage and combination of sleeping and pain pills had sent him into a nearly coma like state where he didn’t even notice that he had been shot twice, and only by dumb luck he awoke before he passed from blood loss. According to records on hand, Mr. Park activated the panic button that was on the end table and awaited death as he was to weak to even get out of bed.
We know that Mr. Park was the only member of his family to survive that evening, his wife and grandchildren would perish and his children would disown their father blaming his negligence and dependency on medication as the sole cause of death and not the criminals themselves. I guess in grief it’s easier to blame the victim the accept the truth, well for Mr. Park this would be devastating and once he would awaken in the hospital after life saving surgery though for him the nightmare would continue as he would awake handcuffed to the bed and under arrest for the murder of his family. The injuries he sustained where considered suspicious and possibly self induced, and with the murder weapon being found wiped clean and under the bed in the master bedroom, homicide 101 already states that the first person on scene is the first suspect, and bad luck for Stewart was that he survived and the murder weapon was residing under his bed. So as his family was disowning him and the city was trying formulate a case against him, Mr. Park was facing multiple life sentences within the cryogenics prison. The stage was set for the trial of the century and with all the evidence being circumstantial and the only damning evidence being the unregistered pistol that was hidden within his bedroom it wouldn’t take long for the prosecutor to destroy the credibility of Mr. Park and convince a jury that he was guilty of crime he never committed. The jury would come back after mere minutes of deliberation with a guilty verdict and a short date set for sentencing. Griffon was destroyed when he heard the jury foreman recite the quadruple guilty verdict. The cameras of the media flashed as Griffon lowered his head and raised his hands as he began sobbing at hearing his family members names spoken out in court followed by the guilty verdict. Griffon was handcuffed and lead out of the courtroom and returned to prison where he would remain till his sentencing date. While in prison Griffon would suffer under the cruel hand of the guards and other inmates, since he was a convicted child killer, and his smaller frame and weakened state would make him an easy victim for abuse. He couldn’t speak out and he couldn’t fight back since his injury and years at a desk did it’s toll on his body.
For the next two weeks Mr Park would suffer the abuse and when he wasn’t being abused he was sent off into solitary confinement, being feed barely enough food to sustain him and yet further exasperate his weight and muscle loss. So by the time of his sentencing, Mr Park would only be a shell of himself and his once fitting suit and shirt, just draped over him like a robe. He was marched into the courtroom in chains, the media’s cameras flashed and the room was full of people including Mr. Parks children all there to bear witness to the sentencing of the infamous child killer. Mr. Park’s body riddled with pain from the abuse, his old injuries exasperated by the near starvation, and his will shattered by the constant sexual abuse he suffered by the prisoners. His teeth had been shattered, his eye socket cracked causing him to go blind in his left eye, his wrist was broken and held together with screws, bars and pins as well as his ankle and hip. Mr. Park was barley able to walk but still forced to stand before the judge with obvious signs of physical abuse that had been explained away with a report that dictated that he had fallen down the stairs during a cell transfer. As he stood their before the judge, hearing the whispers of the people calling him a worthless murderer all he could do was stand their and accept his fate.
Mr. Park would stand there as the judge would pass the sentence that he called to generous for a callous killer such as him, the judge stated that he wished he could sentence him to death but since that was not an option he would sentence him to serve 500 years within the cryo chamber, where he would be frozen and hopefully forgotten about and spend the rest of eternity nothing more then a block of ice. As Mr. Park heard his sentence being rendered and the cheers of the people behind him, his heart broke and tears began to roll down his check. He was an innocent man that was now going to be frozen, and placed in a deep slumber for the next five centuries, with no reassurance that he would ever be restored or even survive the process. Being sent to the Cryogenic Prison was basically being sentenced to death, seeing that no one knew for certain that the process could be reversed as well in his injured and weakened state hie might not even survive the process and he might go into cardiac arrest and die during the freezing and never awake and just remain a frozen block of ice.
As the judges gavel slammed down, he was one again taken out of the courtroom as the media circus flocked around and reporters all trying to get the next best shoot of the man that was about to go into the deep freeze. Mr. Park was taken out of the courtroom and brought to the basement where he was stripped of his suit and placed in a black and white striped jumpsuit, given a sedative, marched onto the prison bus and placed in the private cell where he would have to wait till the end of the day to be taken to the prison for what he he had come to accept as his final slumber. According to the reports he would slip in and out of consciousness from the medication, and was carefully watched to make sure he didn’t attempt suicide before the being given the frozen slumber. The prison bus once loaded was well on it’s way to drop off the prisoners at the Seattle Super Max, though for Griffon his trip would continue as he would be transported to another prison, one that was far more sinister and his sentence being more of an unknown than anything else. This is what was causing Mr. Park to suffer the anxiety and why they always sedated the cryo prisoners seeing that being sent to the big house the convict knew the time, and they knew if they would ever see the light of day again, they would have social interaction and be able to either die in prison or get out and the world hasn’t changed all that much. The cryo prisoners where all sentenced to extended terms far longer then any human could ever survive normally, they would be frozen in one century and hopefully thawed and restored many centuries later. These prisoners would just close their eyes and awake hundreds of years later, though for them it would feel like only a few hours as they would have no resemblance of time.
So there he was at the end of his long journey and heavily sedated, he was marched off the bus and brought into the cryo room where his chamber was awaiting him. The guards marched him up the stairs, where they stripped him down to his birthday suit, the technicians installed the tubes and wires that would monitor his vitals. They placed the skullcap on him that would monitor his brain activity and allow them to send rehabilitation programs into his sleeping brain, the finally inserted the medical tubes that would sustain his body for the extended slumber. Mr. Park was too sedated to even react in horror to what was being done to him as his body was being shaved of the hair that would hinder the equipment and being lowered into the machine. The last act was a pair of blinders placed over his eyes and tube gag shoved down his throat as his mouth was stapled shut, he listened as the warden read his sentence and set the clock that would eventually hang in front of his ice block. The warden once he finished with his reading of the courts orders, pushed the button and began the freezing process, according to the records from the cryo prison Mr. Parks vitals went crazy as he was being frozen and it was obvious to the naked eye he was suffering extreme pain and the brain records show that he did survive the process but his body was forever trapped in a frozen stasis of never ending torment and pain. The reports indicate that his block was then moved out of the chamber and placed in the freezer to serve out his five century sentence.
Well we know that the Cryogenic prison system would eventually be shut down for corruption and multiple murders of the prisoners, seeing that the system itself was faulty and mostly untested. They never actually proved that they could resuscitate the inmate once his sentence was completed and seeing that their sentences where so lengthy no on involved in the prison scam would be alive when the first cryo prisoner would need to be restored. Those involved could skim the city for billions, all the while they would be passing a death sentence to murders that weren’t sentenced to death. Also it was said that these men would feel nothing and would be in a deep hibernation they would not feel anything and the whole process would happen in mere seconds. Well the brain scans of Mr. Park proved otherwise that he not only survived the process, but he was fully cognitive and trapped in a total state of pain and suffering. These records were supposedly destroyed, though one reporter uncovered the records and turned the entire system upside down when he went public with the story. It as well proved that 90% of the prisoners that entered the deep freeze perished either during the process or moments after, though they were kept on display for the visiting politicians to pat each other on the back and show a job well done thus allowing the prison to garner more money from an increased budget.
Though during this time while Mr. Park was suffering wrongful arrest, and being tried for a crime he didn’t commit a few of his close friends never actually believed that he was capable of the horrendous crimes he was charged with and deep Christian values would not allow him to commit homicide and especially against his family that he spoke volumes about and loved with every ounce of his being. They knew that he would sacrifice his life in a heartbeat for his wife and grandchildren and yet here he was being charged with their murder and disowned by his children. They would hire a team of private investigators to begin to examine the case and try to uncover the truth about the murders, this investigation would not take all that long as the investigators would eventually discover a camera system inside the Parks home that was privately installed as part of the homes upgraded security system, the camera’s caught the entire nights events and had downloaded it to an off site location. Mr. Park had mentioned about the security footage during his trial to his lawyer but nothing supposedly panned out and the video never surfaced during his trial. This evidence would have cleared Mr. Park and freed him from prison and the nightmare he was now enduing, though even after the new evidence would surface it would come after the fact and the district attorney’s office refused to even acknowledge the new found evidence claiming that it couldn’t be authenticated and hence forth the conviction wouldn’t be over turned. This was where a new assistant district attorney Jack Malone would be approached with the new found evidence and presented with a way to reverse a miscarriage of justice. Malone recognizing Mr. Park from his days in the military agreed to take on the task of reversing Mr. Parks conviction and free him from the deep freeze. This proved to be harder then initially thought seeing that many powerful people’s reputations where on the line and this included the current District Attorney, the Mayor, the Judge, as well as many council men, and other politicians and media personality that all stood to loose credibility and face if the conviction was over turned. Mr. Malone would have his hands full and he knew that he couldn’t do this alone and would have to bring in additional support that would be able to navigate the political mine field that was about to be exposed.
Over the next ten years, while Mr. Park sat silently frozen in slumber the powers that be fighting tooth and nail to keep the Griffon in the deep freeze and Malone fighting behind closed doors to spare his friend and restore the man’s honour. This entire situation nearly cost Malone his job and ruining his career, but he was determined to right the wrong and fix this miscarriage of justice. He navigated many hurdles throughout this process, including the disappearance of evidence, the eventual destruction of the video images at the hands of  lab technician that was trying to appease his bosses. Malone wasn’t stupid and he had additional copies made, so that a single accident wouldn’t render the investigation obsolete. Eventually the city would elect a new District Attorney a Mr.David Branch, the election of Mr. Branch would hail in a new order within the Seattle court system and it would be out with the old and in with the new. Mister Branch would begin to clean house and thus would allow for Malone to finally have the chance to set things right for Mr. Park. It had been almost ten years since Stewart was frozen and Malone was about to finally restore honour to his friends good name. Mr. Branch would view the footage and give Malone the go ahead to reverse the conviction and free Mr. Park from the deep freeze, well as the city was being hammered with the news that the child killer Stewart Park was actually innocent. The news was about to break about the corruption and inhumane nature of the cryo prison from Seattle World News Anchor Reverdy Davis, this would send everything into a downward spiral and cause Malone to worry about his friends life and if he would even be able to be resuscitated.
Malone under the direction of Branch would go before the cities hardest judge, a man thought to be one of the last remnants of the old boy’s club a Judge Oliver McKeen and as the media circus was once again exploding Malone stood before McKeen and argued the case for the immediate reversal of Parks conviction and his release from the deep freeze. Malone presented the new evidence and handed over the signed documents from Mr. Branch authorizing it, McKeen sat silently reading the documents and transcripts as Malone nervously stood there unaware of the judges decision. Malone knew that McKeen was old school and very much part of the old boys network and to sign off on the documents would be sentencing a fellow judge to be consumed by the vultures that where beginning to swarm in light of the breaking news. McKeen sat there for what seemed like an eternity until he lifted his head up, lowered his glasses and ordered the conviction be over turned and Stewart Park be released from the department of corrections immediately.
McKeen then signed the paperwork and slammed his gavel, he then dismissed the court and rose from his bench in disgust leaving the courtroom and heading for his chambers to prepare for the backlash that was about to ensue. Malone raced out of the courtroom, getting into his car and driving straight to the prison to free Stewart, he made only one phone call to Reverend Christopher Carroll who was still championing for his friends innocence to deliver the good news and have a warm welcoming home prepared for Stewart or prepare for his funeral if he couldn’t be restored after ten years of the deep freeze. Malone arrived at the Cryogenics Prison just after sunset and raced towards the administration department to speak with Warden Richard Clark who was currently overseeing the prison and the only man that could expiated the release of a prisoner. Malone only hoped that Clark was even their seeing that he was also the acting warden of the super max, as luck would have it Clark was in his office going over the prisoner records in light of the landmine that just exploded all over the news. Malone presented the documents from Judge McKeen to release the prisoner from his custody, Clark read the documents nodded and chuckled as he signed off on the release saying he’s all yours counselor. Clark then picked up the phone and called down for the prisoner to be thawed and released, Malone thanked Clark and then left his office to head down to the chamber to await his friends release. Malone would arrive in the thawing chamber as the process would commence, he would watch as the large block of ice would begin to be cut down to size and the thawing process beginning. He would see Mr. Park naked and blue with tubes and wires protruding from his body filling it full of warming solution and medication. Malone would glance around at the other blocks of ice with there fossilised prisoners locked in their frozen tombs and just shake his head in disgust, he could see that this process wasn’t humane in anyway and death would be better then suffering in the tomb of ice.
The whole thawing process took multiple hours, versus the freeing that took mere minutes, and seeing that Mr. Park was there first attempt at a resuscitation it wasn’t handled all that professionally since most of the technicians where never really trained for this part of the process. It was a miracle that they didn’t accidentally kill Stewart during this delicate process. After a few hours, and by a sheer miracle alone Stewart was thawed and his core body temperature slowly brought back to normal. His heart was restarted and he regained conciousness, though as he came to be would begin screaming from his core. As the medical personal removed the blinders and breathing tube, he just continued to blindly scream until nothing but the wisps of air could be heard, his wounds from ten years never healed just placed in stasis now fully exasperated. His body racked with pain as his nerves once again functioned and began to fire off in excess, he would begin to seize and eventually the monitors would show that he was going into cardiac arrest. Mr Park was not out of the danger zone yet and the medics would begin to work on him as they prepared him to go to the hospital to receive emergency medical treatment. Malone just watched in horror as his friend was dying from the thawing process and that he was just a shell of who he once was.
Well according to Malone’s case files and reports, Stewart Park suffered a massive heart attack and needed to have a heart transplant, though he as well suffered a massive stroke do the ice crystals that had formed in his brain and caused clotting. Stewart did survive the process though he wasn’t out of the woods, he had to spend the next year in the hospital to recover from his surgery and rehabilitation from his injuries. As well he was lost in a fog of memories, to Stewart it was still 2050 and his family was just murdered, he was wrongfully convicted and just frozen. Though it was now 2060 and he had just lost a decade of his life, yet he hadn’t actually physically aged since he was clinically dead for a decade. One would think that this would have sent Stewart into a mental break and cause him to recoil from the world. Yet for Stewart this was the last thing on his mind, he initially became the poster child for the failures of the Cryogenics program and as the prison would begin to report even more failed resuscitations as more and more prisoners were ending up deceased. This along with the class action lawsuit he filed against the city for an undisclosed amount that was settled out of court, Mr Park would be set for life, though for him everything was still very real and personal. He was ten years older but his memories where still a decade old and to him it was as if they just happened, he went through a very lengthy recovery process but the anger deep inside him burned bright and eventually Griffon would no longer be able to sit ideally by and just accept the terms of what he went through. The final nail in the coffin was when he saw the video footage of the murders, when it was being broadcast on one of those unsolved crimes shows.
Griffon would recognize the assassins as Green Beret soldiers and see that it was a government hit, he would see that do to the heavy blankets and his reduced frame the soldiers would fire into the bed, not knowing that they didn’t hit a vital location and do to his medicated state he didn’t awake so they assumed he was dead. Griffon would just boil with anger towards the government and knew that he needed to do something, he could no longer stay silent and no longer do nothing. Griffon would spend the next handful of years retraining his body and pushing himself further and harder then he should, he would use a portion of his windfall to give himself on the streets and outfit himself with state of the art gear and out of the shadows would emerge the Griffon. He is still tormented with pain and nightmares, but he has managed to maintain his honour in the face of adversity.
The Griffon would emerge on the streets in 2071 and strike out against the injustices of the court system and work to help those that have been wrongfully convicted, he would as well strike out against the UCAS military and fight for the people that are being targeted by the beast of the government. The Griffon is one of the few good guys that stalk the streets and even though he has been through a life destroying level of events he ha managed to keep his head held high and keep his honour and code intact. This man is once again on the governments radar and as well on the radar of all the people who’s lives he destroyed during the cryo fiasco, though the Griffon doesn’t care and he is willing to lay his life down to help the innocent. This man is a shining example of what a mercenary should be like and how they should act, though for the Griffon he is new to this lifestyle. This is one man that if you can find, and you have some serious injustice you need handled, you might be able to hire the Griffon.
