The Valkyries are a premier runner team from the hallowed halls of the Motor City, they began during the early days of 2035 and have since risen to legendary status within the realm of the shadows. The one thing that makes this team unique is that it’s an all female team and no men are allowed to join their ranks, the Valkyries believe that the world of the runner is primarily a male profession and they are out to prove that they are just as good as any of their male counterparts. Well they have not only proved this, but they have excelled in the art of running the shadows, this team managed survive the dangerous shadows of Detroit but excel within the shadows of Old Seattle; the Valkyries might have gone through multiple members throughout the years and only a few remain from the earliest days with only their founder the Valkyrie remaining among living from the original line up. Though even though their ranks have changed one thing remains true, they are still here and they are making a huge impact within the Emerald City, the Valkyries would be forced to switch cities do to the nuclear holocaust that would befall their beloved Detroit; but this has only empowered them and caused this unit to even more focused.

They are always open to new recruits within their squad, though the prospect must be female and as be able to pass through the brutal trial that the founder sets for them. They are not looking for just anyone and they are not going to allow just any Dreamer to wear their colours, the Valkyries mean business and with the rules of the game currently changed they must work even harder to prove that they are as good as any man. Seattle is where the big dogs come to play and only a few women have survived the deadly shadows of Seattle, so this team must now compete with the likes of the Wolf Pack, Mariners, Harbingers, and the Devils Rejects for the top spot. Can the proven might of the Valkyries dethrone the current kings of the shadows or will they just become another loyal subject of the current monarchy; one thing is for certain the shadows have just become far more interesting and the Valkyries have already begun to make waves for all women kind. No longer are the shadows exclusive territory of the men, it has proven that the women of the shadows can be as deadly and dangerous as any male. The Valkyries are not the only women within the shadows and they have been inspired by the likes of Ash, Medusa, Loreley, Nightshade and the antics of Bueller from the Harbingers; the fact that these tough as nail women can survive and excel within Seattle means that this squad from Detroit can be triumphant.

Is Seattle ready for another team to enter it’s sprawl, a team that is comprised of members from all various generations and one that is not familiar with the rules set forth by Canyon and Fable. This team has a serious chip on it’s shoulder and score to settle with those that left their beloved Detroit in ruins, it seems that Seattle is becoming home to the refugees from Detroit and blood will once again flow through the streets as they find their place and learn the rules laid before them. Well on behalf of Shadow Beat “Welcome to Seattle Valkyries, we wish you the best.” The Valkyries have already proven to be quite capable and blood thirsty and they seem to be focused on protecting the people of the city like they once protected the tribes of Detroit, so hopefully they stay on this path and we will have yet another team of runners to look up to.
