The Demur vs The True Demure
Websters Dictionary Definition of Demur and Demure: Demur is usually a verb meaning “to take exception” or “to object,” but can also be used as a noun referring to the objection or protest itself. On the other hand, demure is an adjective that means “modest, reserved, or coy.” Interestingly, they have completely distinct origins within the English language.
My name is Kevin O’Donnell and I am the Demurest of the foundation known as the Demur an order of like minded citizens that were in true objection to the generation of war, racism and rebellion within the known world. I helped found this order as a way to bring the facts to the people in a unbiased manner and report only the truth and nothing more. This order would become my passion an I would dedicate my life as a journalist to my chosen career path and come hell or high water the truth would be heard by everyone and many on both sides would end up frustrated and angry at me for speaking freely without any fear of retribution.
I would choose to name the order the Demur simply do to the definition of the word “To Object” and thats just what we did. I would take inspiration in my career from my mentor Ronald Mulligan as he would never bring anything to the airwaves nor the printed page unless it had been fact checked twice and as his intern it would be my job to make certain that all news reports where 100% accurate and without opinion. Mr. Mulligan probably better known as Mr. Boston would have a major impact on my life and influence me to continue on with his legacy; I would go on to work with the likes of Mr. Vegas, Socrates and Howling Mad throughout the early part of my career and eventually I would sit side desk to Reverdy Davis and Alfred O’Bannon. I would eventually move on to found my own news centre in Philadelphia WKLR 102.6 FM Liberty Bell News; over the years I would win many accolades and awards for my shows and broadcasts, I would dedicate my life to ringing the Liberty Bell ad bringing the truth to each and everyone of you; following the same formulas that served my mentors well.
After a career in radio, television and the printed page I would grow weary of the way the media was being used by those in power and how the noble profession of the journalist had been turned into nothing more than a slave to the ratings, sponsors and politicians; and the ones that choose to work outside of status quo would be shamed and forced into retirement or censorship. The greats like Mr. Boston would chose to buck the system and stay true to the truth and Alfred O’Bannon would be forced of the air in disgrace for simple speaking the truth about a complicated situation.
My little radio station in Pennsylvania would be forced to shut down and go off the air only weeks after the Great Tragedy of 2018 by those in the Federal District simply because I refused to honour the gag order and kept reporting on the ever growing turmoil within America and abroad especially the conflict within Europe. When my story broke about the forced drafting and Veterans Hospital abductions, I would end up receiving a cease and desist order from the UCAS Press Secretary; when I refused I was shut down, fined and arrested.
After a stint in prison for failing to comply with an unlawful request I would go underground as my mentors did and found the order known as the Demur and keep the news flowing as the world burned around us. Now as many journalists know our profession is not the most liked or trusted by…well anyone with something to hide, and we in the Demur would bring anything and everything to the attention of the public. This would upset both the UCAS government and the Sons of Liberty but as Mr. Boston taught me the Truth can come with great consequences and we must be willing to pay the piper. My mentors wife would end up being assassinated and he would be nearly killed himself numerous times by those that wished to silence the “Voice” and just like Mr. Mulligan I would never allow myself to be silenced or censored.
Through my years in the media and hunting for the truth I would stumble across some great and noble people, people that I never knew existed and orders that where doing God’s work inside the hell that is war. I am speaking of Deacon Kirby and the Railroad, Executive Director Jarred Mitchell, and Thomas Kissinger of the Crystal Dragons; these men might have reputations of being evil but in truth they are working towards a common goal and that is the freeing of the people from slavery, racism, bigotry and unlawful imprisonment. I would learn of the Schindler’s Ark and willingly align myself to them and their project of helping the people through the Ark.
The Demur would work diligently to spread the news and gather information to aid the Ark and keep the secret of this project from those that would care to destroy it and bring forth the executions of those that even breathed a word of this grouping of angels to the known world. I didn’t enjoy having to remain silent but I understood the need to keep my confidentiality and so did my people and do to all of our hard work countless lives would be saved and many more continue to be saved even though Schindler’s Ark is no more and yet these men still unite to keep the work moving forward under a great threat to their very own existence.
We in the Demur where all over the world and scattered throughout the many cities and towns of the known world, we would never meet in a gathering ad only speak through secure phone lines and the internet/matrix living only as the Demur and forgoing are true identities as we had many enemies on both sides of the rebellion and world war. The longer the revolution raged on the more uneasy we grew but our friends in the Ark would let us know that one day we would see a peaceful resolution and the guns would be silenced and diplomacy would once again prevail.
Now this would be something that would be hard for many of my people to swallow but I trust Kirby, Mitchell and Kissinger so I would keep my people satisfied and as we would become a large extended family over the years trust was all we had. Like the Ark we would work diligently for little to no pay only the satisfaction of a job well done; when we would receive open threats we knew we hit the nail on the head and made waves and that alone would keep us going each and every day. We might not be soldiers, veterans nor runners but our lives where being taken and we would end up being shot, our families hunted and friends killed for simply reporting the truth on a daily basis and once the Paladin would bring this website to the matrix it would give us a direct outlet to alert and warn the people.
There was only one rule in the Demur and that was to keep the Ark and it’s members a secret, reporting on Jarred Mitchell beyond known and public records was off limits, Thomas Kissinger and the Crystal Dragons was under a gag order to stay silent and the Railroad was off limits. We did this not out of fear but simply out of respect to the hard work these men where performing and to keep Jarred from being outed as a humanitarian and member of the Railroad so he could continue his noble work while inside the UCAS government.
This order was known and respected throughout the Demur and something we all followed and protected seeing our own assess where on the line as well. We too belonged to the Ark and as willing as we were to suffer for our profession….no one willingly puts their own heads on the chopping block or necks in the noose. This alliance and partnership was something that lasted the test of time and the Demur looked as if we had weathered the storm and we were here to stay. Well that was till recent days of the last year up to the present.
As all orders age members come and members go, retirement is something many actually look forward to, as well members dying at the hands of the UCAS, World Court, Legion, Deaths,Hand, Free Bird, HRM, SOTC, Patriots and Brotherhood would cause a need for recruitment and the increase in violence on December 10th 2073 would send many concerned citizens straight into the arms of the UCAS, increase the need for the Ark and as well create an entire new generation of Demur. Though this new generation of Demur would be our downfall and end up destroying the order I built and watched grow like a proud father; they would start off by failing to report facts and only the facts and relying on fear mongering and rumours to push their stories, they would fail to submit their work to the elders of the order before publishing and they would break the vow of silence on the Ark.
Then the biggest of all sins would come when they would align themselves directly with Errol Huntingdon better known as Legion and one man now known for ever speaking the truth. There words would grow harsher and harsher as the days turned into weeks and than months till I would be forced to hand over direct information of their locations to those same people they where reporting lies and rumours about and even downright insulting and harmful lies. I would have to remind them about the gag order numerous times and yet they would seem to think that they were above the order of the Demur and even when it became open hunting season on all of us do to their vile lies; we would stay true to the way and as I thought of them all as my family I tried every thing to keep these rebellious children in line.
They would eventually ignore my requests privately and publicly criticise me…as a journalist I have thick skin, that didn’t phase me. Though getting my people killed and endangering the Ark would be where I drew the line. I shut the Demur down and ceased all reporting and closed down the data stores in hopes that the young members would learn a valuable lesson. Well they didn’t and they kept moving foreword with the lies and rumours under a new banner the True Demure and know simply the Demure….they failed to understand the meaning of the original order and their grasp on the English language stupefies me as simply adding a “E” to the end doesn’t make them more extreme. Websters Dictionary defines “Demure is an adjective that means “modest, reserved, or coy.” Interestingly, they have completely distinct origins within the English language.” They are in no way a reserved, modest or coy order….they are as well not objecting they are simply following the herd and obeying their new parent Legion.
They have become everything that I worked hard to never become, they are what the greats sacrificed everything to avoid becoming and they have driven the final nail into the coffin of our noble and great profession. Their work has ended causing the Ark to come to a halt, they caused me to be brought up on trumped up charges with the world court and faced the hangman’s noose for a crime I never committed and would never commit as I am a pacifist and dedicated to the truth. They risked the lives of close friends and contacts to rescue me and return me to safety, and yet I am still at risk everyday do to the continued work of the False Ones known as the Demure.
I am not at risk from those I once reported on as they have shown they are truly professionals and have extended an olive branch to me, my friends still work hard to rescue the innocent and my mentors still work tirelessly to bring you the truth each and every day and night through the airwaves or printed page. I am at risk from those that are blinded by the hate the Demure spread and I am risk by those that fail to listen….as a new friend said to me “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” no wiser words every spoken and it was these wise words as well as others that convinced me to join the Harbingers and the US Elite’s media division. I may still object to the acts of continued war, though these rebels risked their lives to save mine after I spent career making their lives hell, they opened their home to me and have broken bread with me openly.
They have welcomed me as a visitor and have taken me in as one would an estranged family member. They have not once asked me to pick up a weapon, join them in the fight for freedom or the censoring of the truth, they have never once blamed me for the men that died do to my writings as well they have never once asked me to take action against the False Demure. I am writing this page for my own conscience and to alert all of you of the difference between the Demur and the Demure, I only hope that I can save a few lives with this article and help alert some of those that have been blinded by the likes of the Demure to step down and begin researching on their own and listening to the words of my mentors and even my own words as I am the Demurest and even I can see the writing on the wall.
Legion, Free Bird, Devil Yates and Solomon Grimm are not looking out for you; the UCAS Loyalists are not interested in peace, these individuals are simply looking to keep you all blind and asleep to the truth that is right in front of you. The world is changing, the people are tired of the status quo and diplomacy is once again on the table. Chief William Redcorn has sided with Archibald Kingsbury, the Confederate South has fallen and has rejoined the Union, McKeen and Prichard won the Presidential Election, Maximilian Yates and Arnold Malone won the Senatorial Election for Seattle’s representation in Washington DC, Washington State is once again within the Union and Franklin Quinn and Wilhuff Palpatine are set to take office as Governor and Lt Governor next month all through legal elections and due process. Let the Bell of Liberty ring once more as democracy returns to America and diplomacy once again thrives. I reflect back to the days when the Demur worked alongside the Ark and when Kirby would tell me that “One day the guns will fall silent and diplomacy will once again ignite the lantern of freedom, till that day we must walk within the shadow of war and hold onto to our faith, soul and conscience….for if we allow ourselves to fall from the light of the lantern we will be forever lost and everything we have sacrificed would be in vane. Till that day we must stay positive and remember that in war the first causality is innocence and lets not become a casualty of war .” Those words spoken by Deacon Kirby have guided me through my career and my life, and now today I can see the lantern of freedom once again on the horizon about to be ignited all I can do is pray that this is when the guns fall silent and peace can prevail.
