HELIX

Well lets begin to tell the tale of the last of the great teams to emerge from the shadows, Helix is what is left of of the greatest teams to survive the deadly War of the Shadows. These runners are all former members of the Wind Runners and the Unknown Solider formally known as the Pain Brigade, they once all served under one banner and worked in harmony as the voice of their generation. The Wind Runners that where originally known as simply the Mariners would comprise of some of the generations best shadow warriors, these criminals would quickly become over night sensations and household names do to the involvement of Hollywood. Though for the Wind Runners it was never about the fame and never about the glamour, it was just about surviving day to day and keeping forging ahead, these runners once believed to have forgone the words and teachings of the great Fable couldn’t have been further from the truth. They tried with all their might to vanish and within the shadows and adhere to the teachings of there mentors, the founding fathers, sadly fate would have another destiny in store for them.

So would begin the downfall of these legends as they watched themselves go from heroes to villains in the course of a few years, and in order to survive they would be forced to further degrade themselves and welcome in a darker and bloodier age, the heroes of New Seattle would welcome in the blood soaked streets of Old Seattle. With the fabled Winds of Change blowing all around them, the streets erupted into a bloody Shadow War and the threat of there existence fading. The Legends would be forced to take action against those that had sentenced them to this fate and thus would begin the downward spiral of the Wind Runners and Unknown Soldiers, the War within the Shadows would rage on for over a decade and send many innocent lives to a numbered grave in the city cemetery, though as these warriors would begin turning on the younger and new generation of runners they would never forget the teachings of their forefathers as well the memory of the man who’s death would cause the war to break out.

These legends would be left to reap what they sowed and even having once been declared the saviours of the world and the true unsung heroes of the Winds of Change. They would still be forced to accept that they were still reaping their own consequences, with infamous founder Hook hunting them down for failing to adhere to the warnings cast down from Fable and the new generation being slaughtered, never standing a chance to inherit what was rightfully theirs. The Legends would in a blink cast forth their own judgement and sentence themselves to a lifetime of suffering, though as the years rolled by even these great warriors could not stem the bleeding and slow the ebb and flow of time. The Shadow War would eventually reach it’s climax in the fall of 2073 and after nearly fifteen years of bloody conflict and hundreds dead and forgotten the war would reach it’s end. Though not before taking one more causality, thus turning the bloody battle inward and causing a civil war between friends. In November of 2073 the famed runner known as Crazy Glue would be assassinated by members of the founding fathers generation for her blatant disregard to the warnings laid before her, though Crazy was neither of the Legends generation nor the generation of the New Breeders. She had already bowed out of the game and had become the beloved Mother Hen of the runners and was exactly like the man who’s death caused the war in the first place. Oh how the cycle continues and the murder of Exodus would cause war to break out and the death of Crazy Glue would eventually cause it to end and for the generations to learn they must work as one.

Well once it was learned that Crazy Glue was murdered while enjoying a drink with her friends at the Jackal’s Lantern, the once friends would tart pointing fingers at each other and eventually the blame game would turn into a all out battle between legends. Many greats would fall at the hands of each other and the world would loose the likes of Electra, Logan, Blood Strike and Barbie Girl as they would fall victim to blades of their former friends and it would seem that the Next Generation would truly be the last generation. As there blood was being spilled on the very streets they helped define, though it was an unlikely pairing of runners Arrow from the Wind Runners and King from the Unknown Soldiers and former Pain Brigade commander would sit down under the watchful eye of Claw another team mate to both men. These three would iron out a truce and pass intelligence that would exonerate both teams of any wrong doing, over the course of many hours in a smoke filled room the Wind Runners and Unknown Soldiers would be no more and they would once again unify and stand united together again as Helix. So after almost twenty years of running the shadows and over a decade of division the friends will be united once again under one banner, Helix now stands united once again and they now carry with them the memory of their fallen friend Crazy Glue and again understanding the true teachings of Fable and that is for the winds may always blow, but we must stand united as one from founding father to new breeder we are all in this together.

Helix now stands tall along side the Devil’s Rejects as the last of great teams of the ages, they stand united with there brothers and sisters of old and new for Seattle is their home and their way of life is once again in jeopardy. Fearing that history will repeat itself, Helix have united with the Old Guard to form a new alliance and unit simply referred to as the Sentinels who stand with honour to defend Seattle from the evils that lurk where most fear to tread. For this is now there cross to bear and if helix can ever revert back to being the Hero’s they once where, is unknown but one thing stands true and that is they will always be legends within our hearts.
