The Battle For Independence
This day will go down in history as the both a day of sorrow and a day of honour for all those brave warriors who gave their lives in defense of the city they call home and for its people they stood united to defend. Given that the military had been increasing their presence in the outlying inner city regions, blockading the access points, and had recently captured the legendary runner Blaine in the wastes, the already boiling kettle was ready to give way. Tensions among the city’s leaders and the people were at an all time high. The frustration towards the military and the Native American Nation forces was coming to a head. The people of Seattle all heard the call of Mayor Robert Hill, as well as the warnings of the Sons of Liberty President Archibald Kingsbury. These men have been asking the people to stand in defiance of the NAN and the military, warning them of the tyrannical presence that was trying to crush the life and will out of Seattle and her people.
On this day that started out like any other, no one would ever know what would be brewing and about to occur in only a few hours. A vast naval fleet arrived in the city’s harbor consisting of vessels from many pirate clans, the Sons of Liberty, and the Confederacy. Archibald Kingsbury gave one more final warning to the UCAS and its commander in Seattle General James O’Brian warning him that war is on the horizon if he doesn’t free the people of the inner city and the wrongfully accused Blaine. The General not only called Kingsbury’s bluff he went all in and increased the presence of the armed military forces in the already troubled zones and ordered Blaine’s hanging to be carried out at dawn on the eleventh day of December. By the early evening hours on the tenth of December the kettle had boiled over and the city was being torn apart in a brutal and bloody Civil War. The first shoots had been fired by the soldiers of the Sons of Liberty onto the military holding the blockades, all the while the naval fleets had begun their assault on the UCAS naval and coast guard vessels, while the ship cannons of the Sons of the True Confederacy and Sons of Liberty began assaulting the outlying regions of the UCAS Military Instillation Fort Lewis.
The tension in the inner city regions had erupted and bullets raged down the streets as the skies erupted in a bloody dog fight between legendary riggers Ace, Mechanic, Dizzy, and Nemo joined alongside with Seattle Police Department’s Air Strike division and commanded by legendary pilot Falcon (Captain James Greenfield). The streets felt the treads of many more of the shadows elite riggers, such as Diesel, Thumper, Thunder, Bulldog, and Daytona as well as Seattle Police Officer Dodge. These brave men took their rigs directly to the contested boarders and began to unleash everything they had in true defense and rebellion. They assaulted the military checkpoints breaking down many, but sadly not enough, as the United Nation’s Forces of Quebec, Native American Nations, and the United Canadian American States returned the favor by dispatching thousands of highly armed and armored soldiers into the region to defend the checkpoints and their fellow soldiers. By this point the entire zone had erupted into battle and for the first time in history citizen, runner, gang member, and police officer stood together ready to defend their home and their fellow citizens from the tyrants of the Native American Nations and the United Canadian American States. These citizens and sinless stood united as the might of the enemy came marching in. Bullets flew through the streets while bombs exploded in the sky and the forgotten district had made their stand. They stood unified against a foe of greater size and strength.
Meanwhile other legendary runners and mercenary units knew that they would have to venture into the Barrens and stand against the forces marching through to flank and crush the revolutionaries fighting in the inner city regions. The Mighty Brothers Grimm where the first to risk life and limb to engage a force that was of unknown size and power, they were assisted by the Mobile Battle Fortress and Mobile Battle Tank of the Devil Dogs as well as hundreds of well trained mercenaries from the Brotherhood of Mercenaries, Soldiers of Steel, Sons of Liberty, Sons of the True Confederacy, and even the Deaths Hand was assisting in the battle. Within the first hour everything seemed to be going well for the resistance fighters, at least until the military unleashed their super weapon against the citizens and soldiers. The sky began to erupt with green flashes of the Satellite Orbital Laser, though even under the threat of the Super Laser the fed up and frustrated citizens and warriors of the shadows held their ground and kept fighting.
The battle in the inner cities as well the battle in the harbor and sea raged on through the night, eventually resistance deckers where able to bring the super weapon off line and turn it against the enemy forces. Eventually the weapon was rendered useless and the United Canadian American States’ biggest asset in the war was no longer a threat and this caused the morale of both the naval fleets and soldiers on the ground to rise. For the first time they felt like they stood a chance against the might of the military, and the battle in the barrens was keeping the forces there from being able to breach the inner city. No one figured that the gangs, paranormals, and addicts would stand alongside the mercenaries and the Brothers Grimm. Vampires and Ghouls joined sides with members of the mighty troll and orc gang the Halloweeners and the battered dwarves of the Rusted Stilettos, though members of the elven gang the Ancients sided with the military.
Through the evening and night the fighting kept increasing and the bodies of many brave soldiers and citizens started piling up, but for every man that fell in battle it seemed to strengthen the resolve of those that still had a breath in their bodies to keep fighting. These men and women where up against unprecedented odds, though their love for Seattle and there dedication to being free kept these people fighting.
Meanwhile within the uncontested zones the media blackout kept the citizens blind to what was erupting all around them. Phone lines and wireless communications had been taken down. The citizens could hear the guns and see the flashes in the sky, though many just assumed that it was a storm coming in from the coast and went about there daily lives, that is until the runner team of the Devils Rejects was able to breach through a weakened barricade and enter the suburban district. Their vehicle showing the signs of battle raised suspicions that something was up. Through injury their team decker Tesla was able to breach the cities automated message system and sent a warning to the people about the war for Seattle. He unlocked the city wide block on the matrix allowing people to be able to gain vital information. Deep matrix deckers and patriot groups suddenly began flooding the shadow web and matrix with details of the battle and asking for any and all able bodied men and women to assist in the fight for their beloved city. Even now the infamous Shadow Beat reporter that had sided with General James O’Brian, Howard Roseland, began to publish warnings to the city and her people before he fled protective custody. When Roseland flooded the matrix with information about the plans of the White House, Pentagon, and Council of Chiefs in Denver it would sadly be his last report. Roseland was killed by UCAS forces when he was cornered on the run. Roseland stood his ground and returned fire, but he was eventually overtaken. He would be one of just many casualties of this battle.
During all this chaos nobody had forgotten about the life that hung in the balance, famed runner and hero of the wastes Blaine. He sat in a prison cell in the Fort Lewis catacombs awaiting his fate. He was to be executed without trial and without justice. His death warrant and certificate had been signed and his life was to end by first light. He was to be hanged unceremoniously in the dungeons of Fort Lewis and forever be marked a traitor and tyrant and have his honour and memory forever tarnished and tainted by the government. Blaine was a hero of the shadows and friend to many of the cities shadows warriors, Blaine sacrificed everything to be a beacon of light for the week, poor, and defenseless. So for this, runner known as Waldo would not and could not sit idly by and let a good man hang for crimes he didn’t commit. Something had to be done. Waldo only had a matter of hours to formulate a plan and attempt to rescue Blaine from the custody of the military and spare his neck from the gallows. This runner reached out to all of his friends and contacts. He was able to gather an impressive rescue team, many who were wiling to sacrifice their own lives in an attempt to rescue their friend and ally. Even the runners there for the money knew the risks and knew that the cause was greater than any payout could ever be.
Fort Lewis has stood in Seattle for many a generation and has never once felt the pressure of a frontal and naval assault before. This base had been recently reinforced with thousands of soldiers from the United Nations and its security had been redesigned by veteran runner and former Urban Strike member General Albert Schwartz, also known as Sixx. General Schwartz had overhauled the base and made it basically impenetrable. He used his combined knowledge and experience as a runner and special forces solider to create a base that even the most skilled infiltrators would have trouble busting through. He had buildings removed and rebuilt underground. He had multiple sentry systems refortified and erected multiple gunner towers. He even had the walls reinforced to withstand naval assaults and the guns of many legendary riggers. He also outfitted the walls with a ledge for armed troops to be able move around easily. He as well created what he called the only access point and that would be a two mile open terrain run from the gate to the nearest building and called it his Pickets Charge defense. This would force any assault to have to enter a choke point and then attempt a two mile run through what he called a dead man’s run. The base was also removed from the matrix and set on a closed system. Little did General Schwartz figure that one day he would be trying to infiltrate a base’s security that he designed.
Waldo had gathered quite an impressive force of men and women and with the odds stacked against these soldiers they left the suburban district and began their trip to Fort Lewis in an attempt to liberate a prisoner and do the impossible. Many citizens of the city and even the police offers saluted these brave souls and the convoy even received a police escort to the Fort Lewis sector. This force contained many members of the Human Resistance Movement, Deaths Hand, Sons of Liberty, Sons of the True Confederacy, Brotherhood of Mercenaries as well as the entire team of the Harbingers, Regulators, Cowboys from Hell, members of Helix and freelance runners. Little did any of these shadow warriors know that this would be their final stand, but all were willing to make this great sacrifice.
The base was still under naval assault from the guns of the pirates and patriots. The skies erupted with the fighters and bombers of the Confederates, The air was thick with tension. Gun smoke and concrete dust filled the late evening sky as Waldo took the helm as commander of this assault, giving a compelling speech on the levels of Winston Churchill’s address during World War Two. The once runners now banded together as a unified force and small army inspired by the words of Waldo. Their morale now at an all time high began their assault. The Regulators and Cowboys from Hell did what they do best and punched through the front gate and lead the way for the armoured personnel carriers to enter. Little did the motorcycle riding gangs know that their ride would be cut short by an impressive mana barrier and the armoured personnel carriers would rendered immobile almost instantaneously upon entering the base. The soldiers took to the ground and entered the base. Claw of team Helix flew his chopper towards the rear of the base to help deal with possible vehicle threats and Deaths Hand high commander War Machine was able to bring down the barrier with a custom anti-magic light anti-tank weapon. This freed the rest of the soldiers up to move in and engage on foot, Polaris of the Deaths Hand and Mathematician used there combined know how to blow a large hole in the east wall and the fighting commenced. The runners and mercenaries engaged the base from all directions as the naval assaults and bombers laid waste to buildings and ground soldiers. The fighters kept the enemy choppers and Land Air Vehicles busy.
The runners began their now legendary charge and began to lay waste to many of the base’s personnel, but sadly for this assault it was doomed from the start and even General Schwartz hadn’t been able to predict the sheer number of soldiers and their dutiful dedication. Slowly one by one the resistance runners and mercenaries were beginning to fall. The Regulators and Cowboys were pinned down under their bikes while taking heavy fire from countless troops. The base’s sentry systems were shredding the mercenaries and runners and for many of the city’s finest warriors this would be their last stand. Meanwhile, outside the base, General Fitzgerald of the Brotherhood of Mercenaries as well as multiple Seattle Police Officers were being overrun by Native military forces as well as NATO solders. These men fought with honor and pride, till Fitzgerald saw the battle was lost. He couldn’t risk capture, so he gave the order for retreat to his men inside Lewis and he commandeered a NATO vehicle after receiving a serious gunshot wound to the back. He retreated from the battle, and in doing so he saved the lives of three Seattle Police Officers, though on the inside the chaos was in full swing and these warriors knew that retreat was not an option since they heard General Fitzgerald’s status report and his retreat.
As more and more of both the enemy soldiers and the runners were beginning to fall or receive grave wounds, Harbingers member Donovan Trask was gunned down by the military. He fell at the same time as legend Saint and the explosion of Claw’s chopper, bringing the end to these runners air support. The tide of the battle was turning against these warriors and many who were trying to retreat were being cut down. Eventually Commander Waldo, seeing all was lost, made a noble sacrifice and charged forward. With a burst of great speed and resolve he threw his hands into the air and cast the most powerful illusion spell ever seen in the history of Seattle. He bathed the base in the crimson light, and created the banner of the infamous Crimson Bloods. This spell was so high in the sky it was seen from miles and could be seen within the skyline of the City of Seattle, shortly after his spell entered the heavens famed runner Waldo was gunned down as his body was riddled with hundreds of bullets. His Death sent shock waves through the battle and it seemed to restore the failing morale of the runners. The spell going off also caused a majority of the soldiers in the base to stop fighting long enough to allow his fellow team mate Bilbo to be able to slip out of the gate. Though Bilbo’s escape was not the end for this dwarf, he left the lions den only to enter the hornet nest. As Bilbo tried to escape a snipers bullet meant for him was taken by the legendary runner Defender, though the round punched through Defenders back and chest and buried deep into Bilbo’s body. The two men managed to stay concealed as the sounds of artillery shells from the combined might of the naval fleets began descending down onto where Waldo had cast his spell.
The area was as well being barraged by high explosive shells from the river. While the guns of Fusion and Artillery were striking the outer regions of Fort Lewis and the NATO forces the Defender picked up the mortally wounded Bilbo and braved open fire to make his way to the waters edge and board an old PT boat that was being captained by Colonel Norman Patton of the Sons of Liberty. Defender took many rounds into his back and then an enemy mortar exploded and rocked the ground near Defender, he was thrown to ground when shrapnel and concrete shards ravaged his leg. Patriots Baron and Malone disembarked from the PT boat laying cover fire as Piranha and Nova raced over to the two fallen men and dragged them both off into the old PT boat. Patton gave the orders for Baron and Malone to retreat onto the boat as Fusion and Artillery laid cover fire. The boat and the fate of those heroes slipped away into the night under the cover of darkness.
Meanwhile in the inner cities the battle still raged on, through the night though for one moment everyone ceased fire and all turned to see the banner of the Crimson Bloods engulf the cities skyline and only to be penetrated by the fiery shells from deep at see. For a moment and only a moment the banner flapped in the wind like a war torn flag of ye old days, it set an unsettling calm that everything was going to be okay and that victory if not temporary would be near. As warriors in the inner cities took back up arms, they felt as if they were blessed with the blood of the pirates and patriots and there resolve had been reinforced. The fighting lasted throughout the night and eventually when the sun began to crest on the horizon cheers could be heard throughout the war torn district as the Native and United Canadian American forces began their retreat deeper into the city, eventually returning to their battered and bloodied Fort Lewis. For the first time in history, Fort Lewis had been assaulted by military force. This battle might not have ended the way Waldo had planed, but in his sacrifice and the sacrifice of his friends and comrades they were able to restore pride and honor back into Seattle. These runners sacrifices might not have saved Blaine from the gallows, but it spared the city and it inspired many to stand unified against the General and the Native forces. Mayor Robert Hill’s call to action paid off as well as they were able to rescue the outer regions of the city from being consumed and eradicated.
The barricades are now gone and the cities minor gangs have banded together to defend the neighborhoods. The city’s patriotism is at an all time high. The Barrens have been spared and the creatures and problems there have gone back to the sewers and shadows. Now is the time for remembrance, mourning, and burying the dead. During this conflict many of the cities finest shadow warriors of all generations perished. They laid down their lives in defense of a city they called home, for people they called neighbors and friends, and for something bigger than themselves. They fought and died for a cause so just, that for as long as man walks on this earth their story will inspire others to fight injustice and corruption. Only through there ultimate sacrifice could the truth be seen by the masses and no longer can the Natives hide behind the false truths and reconstructed history.
The list of wounded and dead during this battle is still being collected, though thousands of civilians were either wounded or killed during this assault. Many rescue efforts are still being conducted and probably will continue for decades so that families can receive closure and properly mourn and bury their missing family members. The Mayor, Senator McCarthy, and Senator Mitchell have decreed that December 10th 2073 be remembered forever as the day Seattle Stood As One. This was the city’s resistance and this was the city’s Declaration Day.
General Archibald Kingsbury “Colonial”
The Brave and Noble Soldiers of the Battle of Fort Lewis
These are the men and women who gave their lives in defense of the city of Seattle in the assault of Fort Lewis. These soldiers in life might have stood opposed and have been branded criminals and street thugs, but in their death they are to be forever known as soldiers for a cause. These warriors made the ultimate sacrifice so that you can remain free. This war is far from over, but this is the first step. Don’t let their deaths be in vain.
Saint: Chester Malkovich perished during the Battle of Fort Lewis. He laid his life down in defense of a man he never met, but he felt deserved the honor of an attempted rescue. Saint did this mission out of the goodness in his heart and never accepted a dime for it. He will be missed within the shadow world and his sacrifice to be never forgotten.
Waldo: Walden Malkovich, son of Chester Malkovich and leader of the Battle of Fort Lewis, perished shortly after his father in making the ultimate sacrifice that allowed many of the runners to escape. He laid his life down in a valiant attempt to allow others to live. Waldo’s actions on this day will never be forgotten as he gave his life to rescue a man who he greatly respected and felt didn’t deserve the fate that awaited him. Waldo will be missed by many within the shadow world, as well as many outside that world. He shall never be forgotten for his ultimate and noble sacrifice.
Tin Man: Donovan Trask fell in battle saving his friends and allies the Regulators from certain death. He made the ultimate soldier’s sacrifice and joins his team mate Waldo in the golden halls of Valhalla. Tin Man fought to free a man that he never met, but felt his death would be unjust. This soldier once a street samurai died with all the honor and prestige of a mercenary and will receive proper accolades for his actions on this day. Posthumously he will be honored by the Mayor and he will be forever remembered for the sacrifice he made during the Battle of Fort Lewis.
Sorcerer: Corbin Washington gave his life during the Battle of Fort Lewis and he made the ultimate sacrifice for only a few credits and an attempt to rescue a man that deserved to be free of the shackles. Corbin’s actions during this day will be felt throughout and his magical assistance allowed many of his fellow soldiers to survive. He was gunned down by enemy soldiers while he attempted to heal another fallen brother. His noble sacrifice shall never be forgotten and he shall live on forever in the hearts and minds of everyone who had the privilege of meeting this honorable man. Corbin, your curtain may have closed but you shall forever rest in piece and your show shall never be forgotten.
Mortician: Thomas Sherman might have had an evil heart and blackened soul. This man was a terror and a soldier of the Deaths Hand. He gave the ultimate sacrifice in death and showed the world that even evil can be redeemed. Thomas laid his life down during the Battle of Fort Lewis and in a heroic attempt to save a fellow soldier was cut down by the enemy. His actions in life might still be felt and many may breath a sigh of relief that he has passed on, but his actions during the Battle of Fort Lewis allowed this man to die a hero and a true patriot. He will as well be receiving awards posthumously. Let Thomas’ memory live on forever as without him the street samurai would never have existed. He will be forever missed and remembered. Rest in Piece Mortician.
Claw: His real name is still unknown and probably will be forever as we only ever knew him as the scourge of Seattle, the ultimate shadow warrior. Though for Claw the Battle of Fort Lewis was personal and he couldn’t sit by and watch a friend and comrade be executed without trying to rescue him. He risked everything as he flew his chopper into battle and drew the attention of the enemy military vehicles and guns away from the soldiers on the ground. He died doing what he loved and that was creating total destruction in battle. The city might be sleeping easier knowing Claw is no longer a threat, though this rigger showed the world that even he has honor and couldn’t sit by and watch his city and friends be taken hostage by the tyrannical hand of the UCAS. Claw my friend, your time has come and now you can rest in piece and finally be reunited with your sister once again. Claw you will be forever missed. You were the last of a dying breed, and your name and legacy will forever live on. <<Claw has been confirmed to have survived the Battle>>
Zap: Eric Walsh joined the fight for only one reason, he felt he needed to attempt to save his captive friend and ally, a man who helped him when he was first on the streets and gave Eric a chance. Eric laid his life down in defense of his friend. As a rigger he was forced out of his vehicle and he still took to the battle as a solider. Eric, your sacrifice will be never forgotten and you have become a part of history never to be forgotten, your name praised as a hero.
Chaveze: Jose Chaveze E Chaveze, this man rode the streets as a Regulator for decades and has buried many of his fellow outlaws. This man could not sit by and watch a close friend hang for a crime he didn’t commit. He felt that he needed to aid in his rescue, and as a Regulator he is well known for boarder crashing and raiding military bases. If it wasn’t for the actions of Chaveze the soldiers on this day would have failed and been all slaughtered before even breaching the base. Chaveze died after fending off many soldiers and allowing his fellow Regulators who were all gravely wounded to escape Fort Lewis. This desperado made his final ride, he rode into Lewis an outlaw and he died a hero. His name shall be praised and his actions honored. This man stood in direct defiance of his own people for their actions against his comrades and for this Chaveze we thank you for everything and for your noble sacrifice.
Virus: Cyrus Blackman, they say that even the immortal can be killed if the stars are aligned correctly and sadly for you, this prophecy came to light. This Cowboy, like the Regulators, made a career out of storming the castle. They might not have had any emotional connection to Blaine, but they felt it was their God given right as patriots to add their skills as border crashers to the strike force. Cyrus as well sacrificed his life to save many others as the Virus threw himself in the way of the sentry weapons system, thus allowing his other Cowboys to escape. Cyrus gave his life for a cause he believed in strongly and he willingly sacrificed himself to save his friends from a most certain death. Well Cyrus you are now riding in the great planes in the sky, I salute you brother, you shall live on forever in our hearts and memories.
<<Cyrus has been confirmed to have survived the battle, seems he played possum>>
Shock Wave: Lt. Trevor Daniels you might have been fighting on the wrong side during this battle, but your dedication to duty and honour is why I am adding you to this page. Under extreme threat and danger this man held strong to his duty to God and Country and fought long and hard in defence of Fort Lewis. His death came quick during the battle as he fell to the blade of the Badger. May you have a soldiers burial. Lt. Trevor you might have died fighting for the wrong cause, but you shouldn’t be tarnished as you were a soldier through and through.
Hurricane: Richard Masterson, the ultimate professional magi, joined the fray initially for payment, but after hearing the compelling oratory of Waldo he was moved and fighting for the cause was more than enough for this mercenary. He brought forth his mastery of combat magic and elementals to the battle. This man was well equipped for a fight but sadly even this founders magic’s and skill where not enough to save him from a most certain death. He laid his life down in an ultimate sacrifice while casting a hell blast spell in an attempt to allow his allies a chance to regroup and retreat, this casting allowed for enemy snipers to bring down this legendary magi. Richard you shall never be forgotten for your sacrifice allowed others to survive during the Battle of Fort Lewis.
Scorpion: Scorpion joined the fight for the money and felt that her skills as an assassin and enforcer would help assist her allies. Scorpion was brought into the fight by friend Waldo. This Human Resistance Movement Soldier proved that even terrorists can have a good heart as she saw the greater good of the cause and passed on the money and decided that the cause was bigger then even she was. Sadly the Scorpion fell in the battle but not before taking many of her enemies with her, she might have been a heartless killer in life, but in death she will be a hero and her name recalled as a defender of the innocent. <<Scorpion has been confirmed alive and to have survived the battle>>
Neo: Neo joined the fight for the same reasons that Scorpion did and he felt that the cause was more than just and he was willing to risk his life fighting for the defense of the people of Seattle. He lost his life during the Battle of Fort Lewis shortly after Scorpion fell. According to Neo’s transponder and his uploaded recorders Blaine had already been hung hours prior to the assault. Neo was unable to escape the prison catacombs before being overtaken by military guards. He was the only member of this assault force to actually make it to the target, unfortunately even the mighty Neo couldn’t survive the torrent of fire from the highly trained soldiers that awaited him. Neo you made a noble sacrifice and your death shall never be forgotten. Rest in Piece great warrior. <<Neo has been confirmed to be alive>>
Blaine: Blaine was the triggering point for this battle and his arrest and most certain execution caused many of the cities finest to gather in an attempt to rescue him from the gallows. Sadly for everyone involved the military sped up Blaine’s execution and hung him shortly after his capture and reported that they would hang him legally by dawn. His execution will not rest well with many within the city, though all the blood spilled in his name might as well not let this man of piece rest easy. Blaine gave his life to bring piece between the raider tribes in the wastes and as well assist any new face that emerged onto the streets of Seattle trying to make it as a runner. Blaine would help the kids with advice, some credits, and basic supplies as well as a place to lay low if the law was after them. This man is a legend in the world of the runner and everyone who started running the shadows after 2055 can trace their roots back to Blaine. Many of those older runners knew this man for his good and kind heart. They considered him a friend and ally. Blaine just being gone will spark a new wave of troubles in the wastes and as well there will be no one there to assist the new faces of the troubled kids and youth who dream of one day making it as a runner.
Sadly, I can’t find any information or known images of two of the others that fell during the Battle of Fort Lewis. The first was a human street shaman that would act as a neighborhood medic known only as Dolf and the other was an elven warrior of the shadows known only as Jax. Both of these men gave their lives in defense and an honorable attempt to rescue their friend Blaine. They shall never be forgotten as they were as well soldiers of honor during this trying battle. The Battle of Fort Lewis took many lives on both sides and shall go down in history as one of the bloodiest and most costly shadow battles in history.
As there are those that sacrificed their lives on this bloody battlefield there as as well those that fought and were wounded but survived. Not everyone who took to this fight died, but all gave some and with these warriors they might have survived this encounter, but they left a large piece of themselves behind on the blood stained fields and are now forever haunted by the scents, images, and sounds of this day. They all spilled and shed blood. They all lost friends and allies, and they all gave everything they had in the face of a greater foe. For these are the warriors alive that know the truth and for their stories of that day to be shared within the history books.
Bilbo: Wounded mortally during the retreat from the battle, his experience with light anti-tank weapons spared many lives and as well allowed for multiple others to survive and escape most certain death. Bilbo’s name will be praised and he will go down in history alongside his fallen friends as a true hero and warrior for the cause, I am proud to call him a mercenary and he will be receiving awards for his actions from the Mayor, Senator McCarthy, and General Fitzgerald for his actions of bravery in the face of most certain death.
Polaris: This terror of the Deaths Hand lent his assistance in this battle. His explosives and extreme fire power allowed many of the survivors a point of escape. He as well used his satchel charges to even the odds and remove many enemy combatants. This man might be a terrorist, but his actions this day are one of a hero and not a villain. He was severely wounded by an enemy sniper, but he managed to allude capture. His fate is still unknown, but we know he was shot through the chest and as well in the stomach. To know if Polaris survived we will have to wait and see, but regardless he is to be honored for his actions on this day.
Patches: Even though he was wounded early in the fray, Patches managed to live up to his reputation and lay waste to countless soldiers and clear a path for Neo to enter the base. He chose to stay outside and fight alongside his brothers in arms instead of entering the building and this a choice Patches is happy he made. Even though he was mortally wounded after Neo entered the facility, Patches the storm rider of the Deaths Hand slipped away into the shadows. After being hit a number of times his fate is unknown, but knowing his reputation trusty Patches shall return once again; only this time with a chip on his shoulder. Patches’ survival is unknown but he is a stalwart and stubborn bastard so only time will tell. He shall be forever honored for his actions on this day. this Deaths Hand assassin is to be honored as a hero for at least one day.
Dictator: Who knew evil could have a heart, and with this man that is speaking volumes. The Dictator is a Deaths Hand General and is currently overseeing the conquering of England, so to see this man on the battlefield for a cause so just is a rarity. The Dictator was grievously wounded early in the battle and had to attempt an early retreat. He was able to use the hole Polaris made in the wall to escape and he was seen leaving the fight in a stolen military car. While he was in the battle he cleared the way for many of the men and as well disabled multiple sentry systems that would have spelled certain doom for the others. He shall for just one day be considered a hero of the people and not the evil madman he is known as.
Sixx: General Schwartz survived the battle and he is still not sure how. His intelligence about Fort Lewis was vital in even attempting the rescue and without him surely no one would have survived. Albert used his access codes to deactivate the hidden anti-personnel zones and as well keep a vast majority of the soldiers busy dealing with his vast special forces training. This was one old soldier on the battlefield with an advantage and most of the troops were cowed by his presence alone. Though that didn’t stop him from having to tangle with multiple urban strike divisions and as well pray his former team mate Bolt would not hard focus on him. Sixx received multiple serious wounds while in the battle and was forced to hijack a UCAS Devil Rat and make a break for the hole Polaris made. Sixx was last scene driving off away from the base. This man blames himself for all the blood spilled that day. He thinks he should have been better prepared and he should have tried to warn them better. He feels as if all the blood is on his hands. General Schwartz you were fighting for a cause that was just, and the men knew the risks. You are a hero and deserving of the highest honors for your actions. Many men survived due to the precautions you took and without you all would have been lost.
Sixxkiller: Tommy lead his Cowboys into the battle doing what they do best, storming the Castle. This man and his quick thinking managed to save many lives as the Cowboys hunkered down under their bikes and assaulted the military forces. They managed to kill dozens if not more before having to retreat, Tommy was wounded badly by a sentry system as they made their escape but if not for the sacrifice of Cyrus none of the Cowboys would have survived. Tommy you fought hard ans with honor. You are a hero today. Your brother will never be forgotten and the Cowboys will ride once more.
Tomahawk: Tomahawk followed his fellow brothers right into the lion’s den, and he didn’t think twice about it. This man was fighting for more than Blaine, he was fighting against the evil of his people and for the truth. Tomahawk was happy to do this and was more than willing to lay his life down for the cause. His experience helped the others and he was able to take many of the enemies down before seeing retreat as the only option. Tomahawk is only alive today due to the quick thinking of his friend and brother Cyrus who sacrificed his own life to save Tomahawk’s. This man fought bravely and with honor. He is a true hero and friend of the city of Seattle. This man is now more than ever focused on his mission and seeking payback for his brother’s death.
Mohawk: This Cowboy rode hard and rode fast right into the mana barrier and was lucky enough to survive the impact, his accident allowed the other bikers to self dump rather the facing the same fate. Mohawk fought valiantly against all odds and managed to survive and escape even though severely wounded, he like the other Cowboys spent a vast majority of the fight pinned down and in the middle of the lions den. As there brothers in arms where marching slowly towards there position, even with the odds stacked against them the Cowboys escaped though not without loosing there brother Cyrus in the battle. The Cowboys are now more focused then ever and these hero’s of the Battle of Fort Lewis will never again give parley to any military opponent. Mohawk my friend you are a hero today and from now on, may you bring down the fires of hell upon your enemy till the day you are all reunited in the great plains of the sky.
Crab: His actions during this battle are unknown, but with his reputation he is probably the reason many of the reinforcements coming from outside the base never reached the base. Crab slipped away without wounding, but his actions saved many lives including those that where still on the outside. Crab you might not think of yourself in this way, but you my English friend are a true hero now raise a glass to your fallen friends.
Arkansas Dave Rudabaugh: The Regulators have rode hard and rode fast for decades and they have said to hell with the rules along time ago, so giving these blockade and boarder crashers to this party was destined to happen. Add the fact the the Regulators have been friends with Blaine for sometime now and owe that man more than anyone else, this was a no brainier. The Regulators more then anyone else knew the risks with charging directly into the belly of the beast as this is not there first dance with a UCAS military base. These boys though didn’t expect a mana barrier to slow there movement and stop them short in the middle of the dead man’s land. The Regulators gave it everything they had in that fight and even though Dave was severely wounded he still had fight left inside him when they made there valiant escape. No Regulator ever says die and they have a Never Say Die mentality but these boys knew that there chances where not good. The Regulators killed a vast many of soldiers and allot of their blood was spilled that night. Dave was being helped out by Chaveze when enemy fire brought down one of their own, Dave escaped but not without injury and not without leaving a fellow Regulator behind. Dave your a hero and the people will be reading about this day for many generations and beyond.
Doc Scurlock: Doc gladly joined the fray when he heard about Blaine’s rescue attempt and for this legendary runner he figured this was going to be like every other operation against the UCAS military they have done in the past. Sadly for Doc he was wrong and he was forced to dump his bike and stand a fight in a very bad situation. His riffle took many lives that day, but not before he was riddled with bullets, Doc managed to survive his wounds but not without the help of Badger. He survived to fight another day and like the Cowboys this man is more focused then ever. The death of his friend Chaveze has focused Doc and he and the remaining Regulators will again take the streets but this time they will be out for blood and revenge. Doc you and the other Regulators have been invited to city hall to receive honours for your actions on this day, if you choose to accept thats up to you and your brothers though you will live on in the history books and your story will be told for generations to come.
Billy The Kid: This legendary gun slinger and leader of the Regulator saw the injustice about to befall there friend Blaine and when he got word about the rescue attempt he jumped at the chance. Being a risk taker Billy was not looking beyond the attempt to free a friend from the hangman’s noose, he also knew the Regulators had done more than there fair share of raids into bases across the country. Nothing could have prepared him for what he was about to face in Fort Lewis, the sheer amount of security and the dead man’s run was bad enough but the mana barrier took there only advantage away and that was sheer speed and reckless abandon. Billy was left with only one option and that was to fight and fight harder then he had ever done before. This outlaw spilled countless blood but he received multiple bullet wounds in return, he figured that all was lost and this would be the Regulators final stand. Though when he began to retreat, bullets ripped through his body. Billy gave it everything he had but if wasn’t for the naval barrage that followed he would have fallen where he stood. The barrage of naval shells allowed Billy and the other Regulators a chance to escape and slip away into the shadows. Billy you might be a legendary outlaw, but today you proved that even a killer can be a hero and for that we thank you for your dedication. If you choose to you are invited to receive honours for your actions during this battle Billy we thank you and the city thanks you.
Tugboat: General Fitzgerald of the Brotherhood of Mercenaries lent thirty six of his men to this fight, all his soldiers where volunteers and choose to fight for the cause. He had to sit by and listen to his men being butchered on the inside and he was forced to give the call of retreat all knowing his men could not escape death. General Fitzgerald did not escape unwounded, but he managed to slip away in a stolen police car, he as well saved the lives of three young officers who can now go home to their families. General Fitzgerald might see otherwise, but my friend you are a true solider and officer, you understood the risks, you took men who volunteered for the operation and you have lived to fight another day. No officer likes to loose men in battle, but all know it is a risk of war and for Tugboat this might not have been his finest hour, but you sir are a true soldier and hero.
War Machine: The high commander of the Deaths Hand being involved in this battle just proves that even those devils of Europe can be are friends here in North America, War Machine is a terror with heavy weapons and if it wasn’t for his rockets the battle would have been lost very early as the soldiers would have been trapped in a mana barrier and just cut to ribbons by enemy fire. War Machine used his weapons to bring down multiple of the enemy towers and keep the soldiers on the walls very busy, this allowed for the units to move forward and avoid being cut to ribbons. Though War Machine was critically wounded by an enemy sniper and his fate is unknown, this man can be considered a hero for the battle and if he survived only time will tell and I feel Alexander will let us know if he didn’t.
Mathematician: This man is recently back on the streets and entered the fray out of respect to the actions of the captured Blaine, he felt that his experience and wisdom could come in handy, if it wasn’t for Geoffrey being there Polaris would never have been able to penetrate the outer wall with the explosives he had on hand. Geoffrey managed to assist the legendary Polaris in bringing down part of the east wall. This also allowed him to slip into the base and begin sabotaging the vehicles and laying booby traps for the soldiers. The Mathematician was grievously wounded from multiple gunshot wounds to his back, but he was able to slip away during the chaos. If it wasn’t for Geoffrey the battle would have gone bad quickly and his actions render him a hero and he shall go down in the history books as the legend he truly is.
Badger: Badger saved countless lives during the fray by butchering the soldiers and eventually reaching and bring down urban strike team one member Shock Wave by removing his head. He also crippled Borg and brought down Laser though these soldiers survived there wounds, The Badger left his mark and that can never be forgotten. He was injured during the fray but he managed to clear a path for the Defender to escape before the Badger returned into the battle to start pulling the wounded out and keeping the soldiers at bay. Before Badger was able to fully retreat he was hit with shrapnel and gunfire in the back and legs, his status is unknown at this time, though the military would proudly take credit of they had the Badger so I have to think he slipped away during the chaos of the naval barrage. Badger I salute you and you shall receive honours at city hall.
Arctic: George being a master of the magic’s of cold and ice and a veteran of the streets was not above lending a helping hand for a valiant cause. He knew of the condemned’s reputation and being friends with the talismonger of Waldo, when he received the call he felt it only fitting to volunteer and assist once again in a major operation for the record books, this time the job was not for a corporation and about the money. This time it was to right and wrong and prevent a miscarriage of justice from being handed out to an innocent man. He lent his skills to the fight and if it was’t for him many of the runners would have died, he froze many enemy soldiers solid and he as well brought down more then his fair share of enemy air vehicles. Arctic knew that using healing magic would be suicide so he used his elementals to wisp a few wounded away to safety, sadly he couldn’t save everyone. Arctic was eventually cornered and under extreme fire, he was critically wounded in the battle and had to unleash the wrath of his Arctic Wave spell the soldiers suffered the most painful death ever but he was able to call upon his ally spirit and escape. Not before casting sterilize over the entire battlefield. Arctic might be cold as ice, though on this day he fought bravely and lent support to a cause that is even bigger then the mighty Arctic. He shall receive honours for his actions and his name praised within the record books for generations to come.
Defender: Edmund entered this battle under the complete goodness of his soul and he choose to spill blood again in the name of honour, justice and the truth. He never met Blaine, but he had heard the stories of this man and felt that he should not have to sacrificed and if he could he would stand and fight to free a man he never met from the gallows pole. Edmund did his best in fighting the soldiers but even his skills were being tested under the sheer numbers and multiple bullet that lodged deep into his side. Let Defender know that this fight was lost and retreat was the only option, he and Badger fought hard to help there brothers in arms flee the battle. Though Badger decided to return to the fight to collect the dead, Defender stayed on the outside fighting off the enemy forces that had re-enforced the bases outer regions. When Defender saw the young Bilbo about to make a very fatal mistake he acted more on impulse and instinct as he threw himself in the way of an enemy snipers bullet and covering Bilbo’s body. Defender managed to escape with the help of Sons of Liberty but not without suffering serious and critical injury, Defender might have escaped but he didn’t leave under his own power. Edmund you are a true hero, and the people of Seattle are honoured to have you here with us, you will as well receive honours and your actions will be documented within the history books for many generations. You truly lived up to your name, and the people thank you for risking your life to save Bilbo.
There were other that were rumoured to have been part of the fray, but there presence is only spoken about in hushed tones and as if they saw a ghost. Nobody will confirm or denies there presence. I will add them to this list of hero’s only cause if they were there they should be honoured and just the way survivors on the enemies side are saying it only seems plausible these men where in the battle. These soldiers need no introduction as they are legends in their own right; The warriors are Raptor, King and Switch Doctor this group of soldiers even being rumoured to be on the battlefield can prove why many of the men who survived managed to do so and also why the enemy troops were so unsettled and and trying to not confirm there presence, if the list above wasn’t bad enough these three men are true legends of the shadows. Though sadly even if these legends where there they were as well forced to retreat from this battle, the Battle of Fort Lewis left a bitter sweet taste in the mouths of everyone that was there and will live on in there memories for the rest of their days.

Sadly Ronald never made it the meeting, before being gunned down, his assassin was captured mere hours later by Seattle Police Department Detectives Sherman Willard and Warren Procter. They captured the assassin alive and revealed that it was a Sioux Wildcat named Blood Fang and he was also carrying signed documents by General O’Brian giving him temporary diplomatic status. Once this was revelled to the city council and city senate they authorised the use of deadly force and accepted the Mayors proclamation of war and independence. The city will mourn the loss of Deputy Mayor Gibson, but not more then his wife, children and grandchildren that are now without there husband, father and grandfather. This assassination was the final straw and was what caused the city of Seattle to go to war against the natives and General O’Brian, the battle might be over but the war is long from finished as the President of the UCAS Jonathan Walker will not sit ideally by and allow Seattle to get away with this act of treason and tyranny.

The Devil Dogs Mobile Battle Fortress and Mobile Battle Tank kept the enemy from being able to enter close enough to surround the Dogs. Though they did loose one of there own in the fight, they managed to hold together and never falter under the pressure. The Devil Dogs proved once again, their patriotism stands tall and their honour never tested or swayed. The presence of the Devil Dogs in this battle kept the morale of the troops high and also inspired the troubled and forgotten warriors in the barrens to join the fight along side these brave soldiers of the old world. They as well played a pivotal role in alerting the city of the war and sending the call to action signal to the runners, patriots and confederates residing outside the troubled region. The Rejects also kept the military busy near the contested region from the outside. This team took heavy casualties but lost no member to there injuries, the Rejects have proved once again that under the Chemists leadership this team is destined for greatness, they fought long and hard against all odds and prevailed.

The team took heavy causalities with many of their ranks being critically wounded, though Ace’s record remains intact as he brought down many of the enemies aircraft. The Wolf Pack played a crucial role in the rescuing of many of the districts civilians and they fought long and hard through the night never once faltering and never looking back.
The Rattlers: This wasteland mercenary unit that highly skilled in fighting the NAN where ever they stand joined this fight without a second thought. The Rattlers went directly against the boarder units and struck hard and fast, never sticking around very long in the same place. They took there wasteland tactics to the streets and with Bulldogs truck and rail cannons they made short work of there targets, though this unit was normally under heavy fire but nothing prepared them for the sheer numbers of enemy soldiers they had to deal with and the willingness of the UCAS to use the SOL (Satellite Orbital Laser) on it’s citizens. The Rattlers lost two of their men during the battle and as well suffered heavy damage and casualties during the fight, but never underestimate a rattlesnake and these wasteland mercenaries tore through the enemy even suffering serious life threatening wounds.
Arrow: Having grown up in the inner cities and being a Seattle native, Arrow couldn’t sit by and watch the people he called friends and neighbours be held prisoner. He joined the fight in the early goings and started to strike from rooftops bring down soldier after soldier with his signature weapon, but when the arrows ran out he was forced to leap down and use his sword to strike down the enemy from the shadows. Arrow fought hard and long through the night, though he was eventually over taken by soldiers and his wounds forced this vigilante into a full retreat. Arrow was a true hero on this night, he saved many a citizen during the conflict and only when his injuries where to great for him to fight did he retreat.
Dentist: This master of the wind and stealth entered the battle striking at the heart of the forces, he slide into there ranks under the cover of the shadows and was removing their officers and communications support. He was also striking there shamans and medics, taking care of any magical and medical support the enemy might have had. His tactics might go against the rules of warfare, but his actions saved countless lives of the revolutionaries and civilians. The Dentist vanished as quickly as he arrived, though his actions helped led to the eventual victory for those in the inner cities, he killed countless soldiers and single handedly removed there entire shaman support division.
Daytona: The vehicles and guns of Daytona in assistance of the ground forces during the battle where indispensable, he used his rigs to block enemy troop movements and his loudspeaker system kept broadcasting the troops movements that he was receiving from the updates from the data files Howard Roseland had uploaded into the matrix. Daytona was crucial during the battle and he single handedly saved many lives with his quick thinking and expert marksmanship. Daytona was wounded during the battle but that didn’t stop this tough bastard from sticking to his guns, biting down hard and holding strong through the blood, sweat and tears.
Thumper: The Guns of Thumper kept pounding the native forces throughout the night, this rigger fought long and hard and his shotgun ended more then his fair share of enemy forces, Thumper escaped the battle uninjured. He helped many a scared citizen out of the district, Thumper spilled gallons of blood on this night and removed countless enemy vehicles and boarder towers. He fired off a twenty one gun salute when he got word of all those that fell at Fort Lewis out of respect to their noble sacrifice, though those guns were aimed at enemy locations.
Duke: This investigator was crucial in protecting many civilians as he would gather the scared and defenceless and bring them to safety before returning to the fray. He kept detailed records of everything he saw and was able to commandeer, this man’s intelligence gathering during the battle will be crucial in the coming days. Duke saved dozens of innocent lives and ended dozens of the lives of the soldiers, Duke was torn between honour and duty and he knew the people of Seattle needed his help and the soldiers where to be considered enemies and hence guilty in his eyes, without Duke many more innocent lives would have been lost and even through being wounded he stuck to his guns and stayed the fight guiding the innocent and wounded to safety and shelter.
Dodge: When Dodge heard the call to duty he answered and when he was able to give everything he had to defend the city he called home and to protect it’s people from the enemies he did without a second thought. Dodge’s skills as a hijacker came in handy as he was able to create choke points to slaughter the native forces and as well gun down their vehicles and armoured personnel carriers. Dodge avoided serious injury but this stubborn little bastard ignored a wound to his leg and kept fighting the enemy through the night. He kept the Police Department informed on movements and where chock points where so they could resupply.
Fiddler: This man was part of the fight by happen stance, he was already in the area when the fighting broke out and for whatever reason this Human Resistance Movement assassin joined the fray and took the fight against the Ancients that had sided with the NAN and UCAS forces, he made short work of his enemy and in doing so allowed many of the allied forces to regain territory they had lost earlier in the night. Fiddler might not have planed on being a hero of a battle for Seattle but he actually proves that even the Human Resistance Movement are not all mindless killing machines and his racism came in handy for once, just joshing you Fiddler thank you for your support and resistance and heal up well.
Mind Freak: This Human Resistance Movement soldier was another who got involved by happen stance, he was with the Fiddler as these vipers never travel alone. Between Mind Freak and Fiddler they managed to keep the Ancient problem at bay and keep the tides of battle swinging in the favour of the soldiers of the city. Mind Freak managed to use his magic to assist the citizens of Seattle and for just one night this terrorist can be considered a hero and friend.
Joe Miller: When they say that Mr. Miller is a king with a shotgun they were not lying, this old bartender fought hard throughout the night bringing down many highly trained soldiers before being overtaken by sheer numbers, he was critically wounded and the only reason he is alive is do to the sacrifice of his friend Detective Susan McNair. She gave her life to save his and for that Joe is torn and troubled, this bartender proves on thing never mess with the Jackals Lantern. Thank you Mr. Miller for your service to the city and her people, your sacrifices will never be forgotten.
Mr. Black: It isn’t really a surprise that Mr. Black joined the fight for Seattle’s freedom and independence, this man might work for the Department of Defence but he in know way supports what General O’Brian and the bureaucrats in DC have been up too. When the shots where fired Mr. Black was seen within the district surgically removing targets and taking down communication towers. He was involved in the fight throughout the night, even being wounded couldn’t stop this man from fighting for the defence of Seattle. Mr. Black has proved once again that he is a true patriot and friend of the old way, he is a hero and should be respected as such.
Ash: This street samurai brought some old school street justice to the native and NATO forces during the Battle for Seattle, she took to the streets and started to clean house, Ash is nothing but a killing machine. Though this machine saw the city ad her people were in need of defence and this street predator was more then ready to cash in and start killing. The few blocks Ash patrolled where rendered safe in no time and anyone she considered an enemy that even dared to enter her domain was rendered extinct. Ash managed to avoid injury during the fray, this is one street warrior that understands the meaning of street justice and she is judge, jury and executioner.
Anchor: This former reporter and anchorman proved that he is just more then a smile and Teleprompter, he is a fully trained mercenary and he is all business in his suit. This journalist on the move, joined the fight for Seattle and showed the world that he has skills beyond our imagination. Anchor personally took down multiple squads of highly trained soldiers and helped countless civilians get to safety. He never once took a wound or even managed to get blood on his suit, shirt and tie. He walked out of the battle upon the enemy retreating looking like he just walked off the set. Either Anchor cleaned himself up fast or there he is just that damned good. Knowing Anchor I will say he is just that damned good, thank you my friend for your dedication to the truth and helping the city and her people. Category 5: This monster walked directly into the Barrens with zero fear and zero care to engage the enemy where he wouldn’t have to worry about mass civilian casualties in direct contradiction to his known reputation. He would unleash a level of violence never before seen and bring down the wrath of God upon the enemy forces where Category 5 was. This man destroyed many blocks of the barrens in his wake but the enemy was unable to deal with his idea of justice and his total lack of care about there lives. From what I heard, he accepted zero surrender and took no prisoners, Category 5 just butchered and slaughtered everyone in his wake. He is a force all unto himself and his tactics might be extreme, but his heart was in the right direction. This man held his ground throughout the night and only emerged from the Barrens once all threats in his location where exterminated, this man just being is the fight is scary enough. I can only imagine what was going through the minds of his victims as this man was operating, and even though they were the enemy I still feel sorry for them. Category 5 always goes to extremes and will never relent, this man is a hero for today and a true patriot, extreme yes but dedicated to the cause.
Reaper: Mr O’Doyle joined the battle for the barrens and this man is a terror to watch work, lucky for most people he works alone and for damned good reason. The Reaper took to the night, like a fish to water and he did what he does best and kill and kill quickly and surgically. The Reaper removed an entire movement of troops coming from the outlying sections of the city, and made sure they would never see the light of day or the families again. This man is one soldier that I am glad is own our side, the Reapers blade took allot of souls during the battle and without his quick thinking and quick actions the battle reinforcements from outside Seattle would have surly arrived and spelled doom for the warn down soldiers within the city. Thank you Mr. O’Doyle for your actions during the Battle of Seattle.
Mechanic: The Mechanic took to the unfriendly skies, to prove once again why he is known as the best dog fighter to date, this man took Ace on as his wingman and he began to rain death down upon the forces on the ground and the enemy pilots never stood a chance against this man while he was in the air and with another legendary dog fighter as his wingman the Mechanic made sure the fight for Seattle’s airspace was well controlled and would stay free of the military and NAN pilots. He personally shot down many of the enemy that never stood a chance against a true legend. The Mechanic was also involved unintentionally in the Battle of Fort Lewis as he was chasing a enemy fighter that brought his war bird to the base, before the Mechanic shot him out of the sky. When Waldo created the Crimson Banner, he was already en-route back to the fight in the inner city. He flew his plane through the centrer of the banner and radioed to all those that could hear him, “Here’s to you Kid, message received.” and he dumped his remaining napalm bombs at there location. After witch he hit the afterburners and corkscrewed out of the Fort Lewis air space narrowly avoiding the enemy fire and naval shells that where hot in the sky. The Mechanic after hearing what actually accord at Fort Lewis he wishes he could have lent his skills and maybe he could have saved a few more folks. Though the Mechanic knows that without him and Ace in the skies over Seattle’s inner cities the fight there would have been forever lost.
Twister: This old mercenary and confederate being new to Seattle shows how much pride the Emerald City can bestow in even a short period of time. This man took to the streets and engaged the enemy where they stood and he never once relented even after being grievously wounded when he was overtaken by enemy soldiers, if it wasn’t for the bombs of Ace he would have been killed. Twister was able to seek cover and find medical treatment, he was receiving medical assistance when word came in of the military’s retreat. Twister breathed a sigh of relief but just looked up at the nurse and said three bone chilling words “They’ll Be Back.” and then Twister laid his head back.
There were countless others that joined the fight for Seattle’s Independence many who once the fighting ceased slipped back into the shadows or back into there homes and wish to remain nameless and others we have no way to give credit to since we don’t have your names. The nameless soldiers where Seattle Police Officers, Mercenaries, Gang Members, Store Owners, Regular Citizens and Veterans. For your brave sacrifice you are thanked from the bottoms of everyone’s heart, and for all those who wish to remain nameless your wishes will be respected and again you showed bravery against all odds and your honour, patriotism and dedication to your fellow man will be with you forever.
The Admirals of the Naval Fleets
These are the dedicated men that commanded the naval fleets against a greater foe, but stood tall and brave with there men and never once faltered. These commanders fought against the combined might of the UCAS Navy fleet out of Seattle and Anchorage and the NAN fleet from the Salish Shidhe Council as well as having to focus guns onto Fort Lewis. Many of the ships within these fleets where sunk by the enemy and many good sailors perished at sea when the ships they were on sunk. These brave men where the ones to signal the beginning of the war and for the Sea Wolves they took the biggest hit as there job was to hold the harbour at all costs, these soldiers had to fight for countless more hours before the actual battle started. Well every sailor loves a good story and tall mug of rum and if you ever get a chance to sit down an listen to their tales, fear not for these men might be dastardly but even a pirate would love to regale you with the tales of this battle just don’t forget to thank them for their dedication and defending your ability to live free.
Admiral Earl O’Connell: Earl is the Fleet Admiral for the Sons of the Confederacy, he is in command of the second largest Navy in the free world. He has been given the orders to sail his pacific fleet to Seattle and hold the waterways at all costs. This man’s fleet is vast and with control of Aztlan’s Navy and the Panama Canal it won’t take long for him to reinforce his damaged or sunk vessels. Earl lost a handful of ships and many brave sailors in the early goings of the naval battle to both the enemy Navy and the mighty Satellite Orbital Laser, though once SOL was taken away from the UCAS the odds in the sea battle shifted and the Confederate Lewis Navy began applying pressure to the UCAS Navy. Earl also dispatched his fighters and bombers to sack Fort Lewis, when he received the call from Edward Davis just moments prior to the Battle of Fort Lewis. The Guns of the Confederates fired long into the night pounding the shore and bringing death in there wake to the soldiers of Fort Lewis. Earls fleet still remains blockading the Seattle Harbour and his guns are on the ready to send another brutal message to General O’Brian that death lurks just off shore.
Ratchet: The feared pirate Admiral of the dreaded Sea Wolves was in charge of securing the Seattle Harbour and river inlets. This man sailed his fleet into position and awaited the Coast Guard and UCAS Navy that he knew would sail right into his deadly trap, as planed the unknowing Captains sailed there vessels right into the web that Ratchet had cast and the Sea Wolves opened fire with there guns and began to board the enemy vessels. Ratchet was given no orders about surrender and for this pirate that is never an option. He and his men slaughtered countless enemy sailors and capturing multiple UCAS vessels in the process, Ratchet and his men where under fire for almost twelve hours prior to the actual start of the battle. Once he had control of the harbour he sent the signal to the other fleets to move in and unleash hell, ratchet slave rigged the vessels he captured to use there guns against the enemy fleets, from his vantage point he could divide his guns between Fort Lewis and the inner cities to lend a helping hand to the fighting there once it began. The Sea Wolves lost many good sailors during the battle and also lost a few ships, but ever pirate fleet is easily replaced and for the Sea Wolves they have no issues about commandeering replacement vessels and recruiting more sailors. The Sea Wolves are still within the harbour and there guns can hit anywhere within Seattle and they as well control most of the river channels. These men should be respected for what they did to assist the city and her people, these pirates are now sanctioned privateers and with such should be shown the same respect one would any mercenary do his service to God and country.
Governor: The great fleet Admiral of the largest pirate clan the Crimson Bloods, moved his pacific fleet into position to lend a helping hand to the other Navy’s. He was asked to assist in the strike by his close friend and ally Admiral Earl O’Connell and the Governor gladly accepted, the presence of the Crimson Bloods within the Seattle Horizon was enough to unnerve the UCAS Navy Admiral Thomas Smith, he warned General James O’Brian about the Bloods sighting and told him that Seattle’s navy couldn’t handle even a fraction of there fleet and since the Governors flag ship was there this meant a large portion of the his pacific fleet was positioned only a few miles away. The General disregarded the warning and gave the orders to the Navy to prepare to engage the wanted felons and not to bother him with such trivial matters. That was a fatal mistake, the Crimson Bloods where bad enough for the limited fleet of that was available but with the other fleets arriving it would spell certain doom for any Navy fleet to attempt to engage. Admiral Smith retired that day and good thing for him, since when the Bloods received the go from Ratchet and the Sea Wolves the Bloods unleashed a level of naval barrage never before scene in open warfare. The Crimson Bloods lost a handful of vessels during the battle and as well to the Satellite Orbital Laser, but when the smoke cleared Governor had easily concurred a vast majority of the naval fleet and he commandeered a few of the Navy’s war ships as his own. The crew willing surrendered to the Bloods instead of being slaughtered, they turn coated on there own officers and voluntarily hoisted the Crimson Bloods colours. There guns pounded Fort Lewis and any remaining enemy vessels till the early morning hours and the Governor has kept a vast portion of the fleet within the Cities sight and his guns can hit far inland so I do hope General O’Brian is listening now. The Crimson Bloods are to be considered privateers and not pirates, they are in full support of the cause and more then willing to rain death down upon anyone who rises up against Seattle and her people. These men deserve respect for they sacrificed greatly to make sure the people of Seattle were free.
Frost: This man is the supreme commander of the Northern European Navy and serves the Deaths Hand Proudly, he is as well an pirate admiral for the dreaded Ice Wolves and has fleets as well in the northern pacific and his fleet there was able to intercept the Naval Fleet coming in from Alaska and render that threat inert before it arrived. Frost and his Viking looking war ships arrived into the northern section of the Seattle waters and was able to help bring down many of the enemy ships before they actually made it out of the base. Since Frost was the first fleet to enter the northern waters near Seattle he was able to have first crack at the UCAS and for this Deaths Hand General and Pirate, he could care less for the lives of the enemies sailors and as well for the vessels. His fleet took heavy damage and he lost a few ships in the battle and many good men but again Frost cares about one thing and that is victory at any cost. This meant that he was willing to go to extremes the UCAS sailors never dealt with prior. Frost and his guns pounded the northern shores of Fort Lewis till the early morning hours and have completely decimated the naval port and rendered it inert. Frosts motivations in this war are still in question, he is a Hand General under the direct command of Alexander, so this has even this reporter nervous. He is a hero for the time being, but sadly when it comes to Frost and the Ice Wolves that will only last for a few days at best. These men are Pirates, they are Deaths Hand Soldiers and they are never up to any good, Frost is here for some reason and what that is we might never know.
Admiral: The fleet admiral of the Sons of Liberty and his pacific fleet arriving in the harbour is no surprise here since Colonial threatened the barrage Fort Lewis and pound it into dust from the sea. Nobody would have thought the sheer amount of warships, that would enter the waters with legends behind the helm and guns. This O’Brian’s advisers had warned him about, and this is what he ignored, once Admiral arrived on the horizon it spelled certain doom for any enemy war ship and sadly for all the sailors that perished at sea during the early goings of the Battle for Seattle’s Independence there deaths could have been avoided if O’Brian had actually listened to his Navy commanders instead he sent brave men and women to there early cold and watery grave. Admiral’s fleet might have been the smallest one in size, but his packed the biggest punch and the fastest of all the ships in that battle, he was able to avoid the super laser by keeping moving and was able to pound larger ships with sheer death at rapid fire cession. Once his guns opened fire, all hope the UCAS Naval fleet in Seattle had about going home was forever lost, he sent any ship he engaged to the sea floor and was still able to get close enough the Fort Lewis to pin point soldiers on the walls with his guns. General O’Brian had been warned and he failed to listen to his advisers about the tactical advantage the enemy fleets had and not to mention they had the numbers game for the first time.
Captain Maelstrom: The dreaded Captain Maelstrom and the crew of the Tempest were a total wild card in this battle the UCAS Navy and there allies never saw coming. This wild card is one of the most dangerous pirate ships to ever sail the seven seas, these men are totally unpredictable and completely cut throat. No one would ever have predicted that they would arrive in the battle flying the flag of the Crimson Bloods, The Tempest and her crew are the reason why most of the fleets only lost a handful of ships and once they boarded a enemy ship all on board where dead in minutes and the ship was rendered a ghost ship. The Crew of the Tempest would then move on to there next target and either send it down to Davy Jones locker or board and butcher, the legend of the Tempest and her unkillable crew are vast amongst those that make a living at sea. Many sailors and captains would rather risk charges of dereliction of duty or just abandoning ship then face the feared Tempest and her blood thirsty crew or unrelenting guns that never seem to stop firing till the target is a hulking wreak at the bottom of the sea. This combined with the other vessels and the people commanding them brought a quick end to the battle at sea and by the late evening hours the last of the enemy vessels had been sun or stolen.
The battle at sea might have been all but won and the admirals planning there next move, but on land the fighting still commenced and would so for many more hours. There would be needless bloodshed and the lose of many of the countries or worlds finest runners, mercenaries, officers of the law and citizens would perish all the while trying to fight for there freedom from the tyrannical General James O’Brian and his quest for military supremacy and complete control over the city of Seattle. This man let greed and power over take him and have him forgo his oath and his personal code. The Battle of Fort Lewis was beginning and this started off as a honourable battle to free a innocent man from the clutches of a mad men turned into a battle for survival and a battle that wound up being the most important part of the entire campaign. So important that Colonial himself has authorised the highest honours for all involved living or dead, little did these soldiers know that when entering the base they would go down as the hero’s to save the day. There unplanned, undocumented assault on Fort Lewis would be the missing lynch pin in the entire attack, by striking the Base when they did and then Waldo casting that epic pirate banner spell that allowed the guns from all the ships that remained in the harbour to come crashing down in volley after volley after volley from all angles in all directions they would prevent the military from being able to reinforce the forces in the inner cities and thus eventually forcing a full retreat by the battered military that could no longer sustain the attack. They lost use of the Satellite Orbital Laser, there forces in the outer regions where being butchered by Gods among men, their forces in the city were being shredded by solider and angry citizen and there base was being blasted to hell while under the crimson glow of the dreaded Crimson Bloods Jolly Rodger. The Mechanic unloading enough napalm to cook a small town and the guns of Fusion and Artillery pounding the forces that filled the outer regions of the base. The will of the UCAS, NATO and NAN soldiers was broken, there officers on the outside all lay dead with no teeth, there shamans butchered and more and more citizens taking to the streets under the crimson light of the banner that flapped in the wind above the city. This my friends was the turning point, this was when the battle was won and victory was clear, Waldo and the other soldiers broke the will of the enemy forces on the outside and as well made damned sure even in death that Fort Lewis would be forced to defend itself and no longer reach out, no reinforcements and only death awaiting the retreating soldiers. This was when victory was reached, the Battle of Fort Lewis won the city of Seattle it’s Independence.

“For every generation has their turning point, where they are called towards something bigger then themselves. For only those with an open eye and soul can ever dare to step out of the shadows to reach for something that is just beyond there grasp. This my children, this is the turning point of your generation and you can either reach out for greatness or be swallowed whole by the darkness of doubt.” (Richard Barnabe “Fable” 12/11/2073)
The Vagrant Memory says
There are so many stories where some brave hero decides to give their life to save the day, and because of their sacrifice, the good guys win, the survivors all cheer, and everybody lives happily ever after. But the hero… never gets to see that ending. They’ll never know if their sacrifice actually made a difference. They’ll never know if the day was really saved. In the end, they just have to have faith.
