THE
WOLVERINES
The days of old are long gone, but it seems that the days of old are hiding secrets from that should have never been; this is one of those dark secrets that should have been long forgotten and buried within the pages of history. I am speaking of the old mercenary camp called the Wolverines and these soldiers of fortune have been lurking within the shadows for many decades and are still quite active selling their services to those that can afford them. Though it seems that their is only one man can afford to keep this unit on retainer; that man is General Archibald Kingsbury and they have been within the service of the Patriots ever since the dark days of the Great Tragedy stalking the plains and wilds of the Heartland of this country; the Wolverines have been stalking the enemies of the Patriots for decades and remaining deep within the shadows of the revolution.
It is no surprise that the Wolverines have been working for General Kingsbury for the majority of this century, seeing that they are part of the Great Brotherhood of Mercenaries and a everyone knows the Brotherhood has been deep in the pocket of the Patriots since it’s inception; thus connecting anyone within that guild directly to the Freedom Patriots and extending their power and military might throughout the nation. Many legitimate government military forces wont even engage the super soldiers of the Brotherhood, not to mention the number of splinter units that exist within Brotherhood of Mercenaries. The Wolverines are one of those splinter units that have remained deep within the shadows, remaining concealed from the mainstream media and even being eventually forgotten about by all those that aren’t within the Brotherhood; though the enemies of the Patriots are fully aware that this unit is still lurking the shadows and hunting their human prey for generations.
This unit might not have been as large as the Sentinels or Devil Dogs where, this unit might not have had any major accolades and hasn’t been praised for their heroism and bravery in battle. This unit is a small division of specialised soldiers that have been working together for years and hunting as a pack, they are masters of the shadows and masters of the night; these soldiers of fortune stalk the shadows like a panther in the night and once they are done only the grisly remains of their victims are found. They might be within the Brotherhood and work within the chain of command but the answer to their employer General Kingsbury and where they actual stand within the Brotherhood is unknown, but one can assume that they are quite high in the patriarch of Mercenaries.
This unit is a cause of nightmares and trauma for those that they consider the enemy and for the Wolverines any enemy of the Patriots is an enemy to them. They hunt as one and leave only a gruesome scene behind in their wake, this unit strikes swift and only hunts once the sun has descended into the horizon; they stalk the night and strike fear into the hearts of those that patrol the camps. The Wolverines are not a unit to be taken lightly and should be considered quite lethal, they do exists and they have been in operation for many a decade. This unit is the master of the forgotten lands and forbidden zones that many citizens don’t even know exist; they used to work alongside the Highwayman and Journeyman during the early days of the revolution but as the years went by the Wolverines would become forgotten history and overshadowed by the Highwayman and the legend that would take hold.
This unit is the wolves of the wild and they should be treated as such, they are great hunters and great warriors; they are masters of the night and leave only carnage in their wake. The never leave any survivors behind, they just leave a brutal mess and butchered bodies as their calling card. The media has only recently gotten wind of this shadow squad since the files of Director Mitchell have been discovered and as researchers pour through piles of dusty old paperwork and out of date files and documents. The Wolverines are confirmed to be alive and well, they are confirmed to be part of the Brotherhood and they are confirmed to be very active in this revolution.
The Wolverines are here within the country, though where they are is a mystery and thats that scary part of this story. We know they exist and yet we have no idea where they are located, the natives report that they have seen the aftermath of the Wolverines and felt their brutal assaults as recent as January 2074 and are still being tormented by them today. The UCAS military camps are reporting missing patrols, and ambush units that have been deployed into the wilds and never seen again; the UCAS is also reporting that entire camps have gone missing deep within the wilds of North America, with only the brutal remains of the massacre left behind. The fog of war has been hiding the Wolverines for generations and they are still deeply concealed within that fog. This unit might never have struck a city directly, though they have stayed deep within the secluded wilderness hunting and killing.
If you ever see the Wolverines just hope that you are not wearing a uniform of their enemy, hope that they don’t consider you a threat and that they don’t consider you to be an enemy of the state; for the Wolverines are soldiers of fortune that can be considered beasts of the night. They can be considered soulless killers that only see the enemy before them, they hunt as one and stalk the shadows like a creature of the night. The Wolverines are not a forgotten piece of history, but a living reality of horror for anyone that has ever seen these warriors in action. The Wolverines have been exposed though yet we have no idea of where they are located, and what they are up to; whatever it is can be considered an act of war against the UCAS or Natives Forces. The tides of war have changed as the revolution is within full swing and the UCAS has been unable to hold back the forces of the Patriots and with even the people beginning to stand behind the rebels; they are standing behind their new President Lyndon and standing with those that are tired of the corruption that has corroded the true meaning of liberty, democracy and freedom.
WOLVERINES
Colonel Richard McCormick (Socks): The Commander of this elite unit of mercenaries is known as Socks (where he got that name is unknown), though Socks has really been socking it to the Natives and UCAS forces since the Great Tragedy when he took the contract to work for General Kingsbury and become part of the Brotherhoods chain of command. It’s no surprise that the Brotherhood has multiple shadow cells within and have been secretly and not so secretly supporting the Revolution since day one. Socks has been in command of this band of misfits since their inception and should be considered extremely dangerous; he like the rest of this unit is a highly skilled assassin, infiltrator and cleaner so again be very cautious with Socks even a pebble in his hands is lethal.
Major Lesley Carthaginian (Cataclysm): Sock’s second in command is another man of mass destruction known as Cataclysm and he has been perfecting his art and craft since the Great Tragedy and uses these unnatural disasters as a distraction allowing the Wolverines to capitalise and bring forth a level of brutality unheard of upon their enemy; Cataclysm is one that we should be very worried about, this man is leagues above Category 5 and has been within this terrorist cell for generations. This man’s packages have been known to bring down entire towns, and mimic earthquakes with their seismic destructive nature. Now drop this man within the wilderness and suddenly with a simple push of a button he can bury our soldiers under countless trees and rock formations.
Major Savanna Cabal (Dervish): This is one women you best stay the hell away from, she has a bad temper and is a master of the blade; she is deathly loyal to the Wolverines and will do whatever is needed to get the job done. Dervish has brought many a solider down in battle with her blade and move on with zero concern for the fallen. She is a product of nightmares for those deemed the enemy and legends of Dervish are told throughout the UCAS training camps; many joke that suicide is a better option than dealing with her blade and rage, though the best option is to not cross paths with her.
Major Arthur Harrison (Avalanche): Another master of disaster within the Wolverines is the man known as Avalanche and the level of devastation he can reign down upon his targets is legendary, where Cataclysm might provide the distraction Avalanche provides the direct onslaught. This man has buried many of the military camps within the Rockies under rumble and as well has caused many native military camps to simple vanish overnight do to the combined might of these two men. Avalanche is the real deal and he is a real problem for the forces of the UCAS and NAN that still attempt to resist the rebels and fight for the UCAS; anyone killed by Avalanche is never seen again and probably suffered a very painful and slow crushing death.
Captain Leanne Hamilton (Catseye): The teams marksman is the legend known as Catseye and she is noting to joke about, this sniper learned her skills from some of the best in the business and originally worked alongside Set and served in the Sentinels before joining the Wolverines, so one can assume that she was trained by Crosshair and is quite skilled in martial combat. Catseye is far older than she looks and has been involved in a great many battles before she joined this splinter cell and became a true predator of the shadows.
Captain William Howard (Roadkill): Roadkill is a real bastard and one that stalks the night turning human beings into nothing but unrecognisable mulch with his blade; this shadow assassin has been working within the Wolverines since day one and has gladly traded his soul for pockets full of credits and war trophies. The UCAS Military has entire courses dedicated into dealing with Roadkill and yet they still come up empty handed in capturing, finding and killing this murderous bastard of a mercenary.
Captain Patrick Lowell (Woodstock): Once a member of the Order of the Cross within the Steel Legion Woodstock defected and travelled across the pond to America just before the Great Tragedy and would end up fighting for his life during the nights of rage; for this once seasoned and veteran Knight the native forces where nothing but a speed bump. Yet he felt that he needed to further degrade his conscience and join the Wolverines and become a true hunter of the shadows. Don’t be fooled by his clerical garb, this man is no preacher and no man of the cloth; he is nothing more that a cold blooded murder that has traded his soul for credits and yet seems to be willing to offer spiritual guidance. Woodstock is quite powerful in battle and this man is a fully trained knight that has turned assassin, his skills in the blade are legendary and he has zero fear and zero moral compass; best to just avoid Woodstock at all costs.
Captain Wilbur Chapel (Sinkhole): Yet the third of this unit to be a master of disaster and this shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that the Wolverines employ more destruction specialist than any other mercenary unit, seeing that they specialise in making sure that they leave zero targets alive and only grisly scenes are found in there wake; Sinkhole employs the tactic of buried explosives and bunker busters to make certain that the enemy finds themselves in a precarious situation as the very earth they are are standing on becomes their eternal tomb. When paired with Avalanche and Cataclysm this mercenary can be very dangerous and this is the man responsible for many of the sudden sinkholes that appear in the major superhighways that suddenly swallow entire convoys and if a few innocent souls are lost, well thats just the cost of doing business with the Wolverines.
