The Old Guard are a group of old timer runners lead by the feared Vortex, this team never actually did any official shadowruns. They are a band of battle hardened mercenaries that pull it’s ranks from the cities deadliest founding fathers. There are a few members of this roster that I still have yet to uncover, those early days where violent, bloody and chaotic so allot of documentation was lost in the wake of the wars. I do know through my research that the Old Guard have been a thorn in the side of the native forces for decades and have even taken to fighting the elven forces deep in the Tangier. Also even though they never did any official shadowruns, they were involved in some epic jobs of the day. This team has re-emerged on the streets do to the events that have brought war back to the streets of Seattle and the Old Guard is at home in war. I am unsure where were this team stands on the whole Next Generation issue, but I wouldn’t want to ask them to find out if your classified as a next generation runner.

The Old Guard consider themselves to be the last line of defence the city has against any foreign force and with a roster that has well over a century of combat experience under there belt I don’t blame them. Only the Wolf Pack are on par with this team and even thats left solely up to opinion and debate. They are complete professionals and conduct them selves in a militaristic manner, this is not a rag tag bunch and this team is a force to be reckoned with. These warriors have done some of the most dangerous assignments and missions within the NAN regions and have exposed more of the greater plot than any other runner to date. The Mayor has officially given the Old Guard amnesty to do whatever they want to defend Seattle and keep the Native threat out. This is the Old Guards speciality and they have been given full authority to hunt there favourite kind of sport natives, The streets of Seattle have been officially blasted back to the nineteenth century and this time it’s fully the natives fault.

The Old Guard’s base of operation is unknown but don’t be fooled into thinking that these hunters are going to go down easy, these killers are out for blood, they have tasted native flesh before and they like the Wolf Pack want to sink there teeth into it once again. There roster contains members from varies different agencies, since most of the old timers have taken there skills to these fringe groups after leaving the shadows. Now that they are back on the streets as a team once again, this reporter is actually thrilled to see these founding fathers working again and bringing honour back to the shadows and fighting for a cause so just. Lets just hope that once the war is over the Old Guard, Wolf Pack and Dirty Dozen fade back into the shadows to make room for the New Breed and the generation to follow and the fate if the city can be left in hands of the young like it should be. Though for now I salute these Founders and the those fighting to defend America, Seattle and the common man from the tyrannical native forces of the NAN.
