Bio: Well it’s time to reveal another one of Seattle Police Departments mistakes in hiring, this man hails from Trenton New Jersey and has served the police there for his entire career. Well that was till he got himself involved in a serious case regarding racketeering and corruption inside the department. Duckberg was one of the few good guys inside that department and he broke the case wide open and brought to light the serious corruption in the department. What did Duckberg receive for his trouble, he became the public enemy inside the blue wall and was hunted by his own officers and as well the gangsters that they worked for. Duckberg was forced to go to extremes and return violence with violence and in doing so many good officers went to an early grave and the Trenton Police Department was shattered from the inside. Though in the end Duckberg was able to be victorious and he cleaned Trenton’s police department up, though not for long and after he was forcibly removed from his position inside Trenton PD and transferred over to Camden PD. The high brass wanted to make sure Duckberg didn’t last a year, they would rather pay his death benefits then his salary or deal with a wrongful termination suit. So they moved him over to the worst department in one of the most brutal cities in North America hoping the streets would kill him and he would become just another statistic of the race wars.
Well it was in Camden that he truly prevailed and became the beast we know today, inside the worst city on the planet the thin grey line didn’t exist and Duckberg was able to do basically whatever he wanted to clean the streets. Camden itself was a demilitarized zone and being such the police there, when they arrived to a call could do whatever they felt like and didn’t have to play by any sort of guidelines. This meant to them the entire city was a open war zone and it’s citizens where nothing but target practice for the officers. Though corruption and strange happenings ran like a pandemic through Camden and this was one thing Duckberg absolutely couldn’t tolerate was corruption inside the police department and he always loved a good mystery. Well the downside to Camden’s wild west attitude was that even the good guys had to watch their backs from other supposed good guys and many fine officers died in the lie of duty while serving a tour of duty in Camden.
For Duckberg this was almost the case, when he was shot in the back by a fellow officer who didn’t appreciate his attempt to clean up the police department from it’s Mafia connections. He would earn his odd handle while he recovered in the hospital in Atlantic City, while he was resting one afternoon a family of four came in to visit the older gentlemen he shared a room with. While they visited their grandfather, the youngest child no more than 6 years of age was being a nosy little kid and bothering the detective as he was trying to watch the news. The child noticed the Donald Duck tattoo on his upper arm and began to ask a million questions about the artwork and then his name and so on and so on. The child thought he was a policeman for the town of Duckberg, from that old Disney television cartoon, Mallard high on the pain medication and just trying to appease the child told him yes and that he lived in Duckberg as well. Well after that day and his recovery he returned to Camden to only be transferred yet again. He was being placed inside Newark PD and for Mallard this was yet another death sentence.
Though as the years went by and he was feeling like throwing in the towel, he kept remembering that child and the smile on his face when he told him he was from Duckberg and he kept everyone safe there. This would eventually lead him to adopting the handle of Duckberg as a tribute to that young kid who brightened a desensitized old cops day. Duckberg has no idea what became of that family, but people like them are why he became a cop and he knew he could do better to protect the people from the crime and corruption. Though Newark was not the place, actually most of New Jersey is a cesspool of corruption and violence, and Newark had erupted in race wars and gang wars. He was as well dealing with the Yakuza, Mafia and Triads every day was a living hell for Duckberg and he knew that the only thing he could do was take to the streets to protect the innocent people from the enemies that prowled in the shadows. Duckberg was ready to go to war again in the name of innocence and he was going to bring down the bad apples inside his department. This is again how Duckberg learned a valuable lesson, that you can’t fix a gushing wound with a band aid and some cities just can’t be cleansed.
Duckberg made so many enemies inside the Newark PD that he feared going to work, not just from the criminals on the street but the ones that wore the badge. Any day could be his last and he needed to become ever so vigilant in order to survive, he also learned that sometimes it’s easier to play by their rules to gain an upper hand. Well Duckberg knew he was going to need new cyber and bio in order to maintain an edge over his colleagues and the criminals, so what he did was illegal on so many levels. But Duckberg didn’t care and he also knew he wouldn’t get caught do to sloppy record keeping and so many peoples hands being stuck inside the cookie jar. He waited till the PD made a large cash bust and he knew that it would be days before the cash would be counted and the official amount sent to treasury. He used a stolen ID badge and walked into the evidence locker, grabbed the cases of cash and certified credits and just walked out of the building.
Duckberg then went to his local DAOD clinic, where he already had an appointment and like a parlour trick he made the cash vanish into thin air and after a few days of recovery Duckberg emerged a new man and he was more then ready to combat the new predators on the street, and also deal with the bastards in blue. When he returned to the PD, he learned of the theft and that they caught the suspect do to him swiping his ID at the evidence locker. At first Duckberg was nervous that he just walked into a trap, but once he saw one of the worst offenders of police abuse being lead out of the squad room in cuffs he breathed a sigh of relief. Well for Duckberg the enhancements and gear would make him a true terror on the streets and eventually he would slowly start cleaning up the Iron Bound district of Newark. Though again this would make some serious enemies and even with all the new hardware Duckberg was under threat of death each and everyday.
His last straw was when he was en-route to a homicide call, when he stopped at red traffic light, thats when his partner drew his pistol and placed it at the side of Duckberg’s head. Do to the enhancements Duckberg had implanted, he was able to notice his partner colour targeting signature change to hostile and do to his advanced wired reflexes he was able to react with lighting speed. Duckberg drew the hand cannon he kept under his jacket and fired off a single round into the skull of his partner. Well when a gun like that goes off point blank lets just say their was nothing left of the officers head and neck, all the windows in the car blew out and God knows where that round went off too. Even the damping in his Cyber Audio system was unable to compensate and he was left with a ringing in his ears that he still suffers today.
After that situation he knew that he couldn’t stay in Newark any longer, they were trying to assassinate him and using fake call outs to do it. This meant he needed to leave town and fast. Lucky for Duckberg he was always a bit paranoid and lived out of a few duffel bags and some suitcases. Everything else in the apartment came with the place, he dropped his detective car off in a known high theft area removed his badge’s tracking locator, crushed his phone and Ambulance contact card. He ran to his apartment, grabbing his bug out bags, loaded his truck turned on the scanner and turning on his emergency back up phone and high tailed it out of Newark and he would cross the Jersey boarder before the PD would figure out he was gone.
This is how Duckberg would come to be part of Seattle Police Department as he would be accepted with open arms, his service record is full of black marks but this man has been a cop in the worst state to try to be a good guy. He takes his job and oath very seriously and this is why the PD accepted him and overlooked the reports from Newark and even told New Jersey if they want Duckberg than they have to come and get him. Newark PD isn’t stupid enough the call their bluff and with a duty roster that includes some very scary officers, well I don’t blame them. Duckberg has been placed in the Organized Crime Division and has been given a clean slate, this man is the closest thing we have to a true cop, though he has some very serious skeletons in his closet so careful when dealing with Duckberg.
Do to his passion for the job and him being very dedicated to protecting the citizens and restoring honour to the job and to the uniform they have also saddled him with being in command of the Juvenile Division. Though they have given him a promotion that Jersey wouldn’t dare to do, Duckberg might just be the hard ass Seattle needs to restore the peoples faith in the department and also help sniff out some of the bad apples that still roam within the blue wall.
