Bio: Well when it comes to Mr. DiCane we must take a trip back in time to a time when the country was once united and being an American was something to be proud of. He was born and raised right here in Texas a long time ago and actually his birth records have been lost to everyone but a select few. The Renegade was not always a law man like his forefathers, this man started off on the wrong side of the law and created some serious chaos and havoc during those pre Ghost Dance days. Like all Texans the Renegade was born with a gun in his hand and a love for all things American, he also loved freedom and was a bit of a problem child in the eyes of his parents an grandparents, who all served in the military and then served as Texas Rangers or Dallas Police Officers so there offspring being a rebel was alien to them.

Mr. DiCane got himself in plenty of trouble during his youth and instead of joining the legitimate military he got himself involved with a local band of National Confederates and began striking a blow politically for the Lone Star State that was being constantly attacked by the Federal Government for their values, their ideals and their Texan Pride. The Renegade just couldn’t see supporting an government that was trying to sterilize his beloved Texas and make it like every other state in the Union. This early rebellion did not sit well with his father and his grandfather as this band of confederate rebels was causing serious issues for the state government and for the federal government. They would patrol the boarder and hunt the drug runners, coyotes and smugglers that where trying to pollute Texas with there garbage and their ilk. They would not be silent about the assaults either, this band would engage in open warfare with the illegal boarder crossers and leave their bodies to rot where they fell.
This was troubling to his law abiding family, yes they might not have agreed with the illegal crossings and the drugs and guns coming in. But their where proper channels to go through and also the President and Federal government where working on laws to legalise and protect these law breakers. The Renegade wouldn’t hear his elders complaints and he stuck to his guns, saying that if they loved Texas and America like he did they would understand and belittle him. So they did like most Texans and turned a blind eye, family does for family. Though when the attacks began to escalate and move from the boarder to inside the cities and towns, and this band of Confederates would strike the people at their homes, their work and their schools his parents could no longer look the other way. These men never killed innocents, and only struck those they called poison, this didn’t matter to the Renegades elders since the media was gaining interest and their actions were as well starting to hit the desk of the law men.
The Renegade as his fellow mercenaries were becoming well known by the public and the people within the country where demanding justice for those that these men killed, they were branding them racists and domestic terrorists, little did the people know what was about to come. The Renegades family tried one more time to reach out to him, they tried to explain the severity of his situation and that he needed to walk away and become a legitimate member of society for they couldn’t protect him any more. That’s when the Renegade thanked his family for everything but said in no simpler terms to kiss it, as he was fully entrenched in this fight and he just rode off into the cool August night. Little did he know that this would be the last time he would ever see his family and little did he know that his life was about to change forever more.
This was the night of the Ghost Dance and the natives magic was about to sweep all across America, followed by years of conflict that will be concealed within history as the federal government would begin their extermination of the citizens the resisted and didn’t comply. The Renegade was in a hide out with various members of this band of rebels when the first and fatal blow was struck. He was with a group of thirty men and once the ground stopped shacking and magical energies ceased only five remained alive. The Renegade, Stamps, Gunslinger, Hunter and Dixie all pulled themselves off the ground and began to check each other for injury, when they heard commotion outside followed by gunfire only to have the front door busted in by a man known as Dallas. He was wounded but alive, and he began to explain to his fellow Confederates what had just transpired. He didn’t know nearly what the Freedom Patriots knew, but Dallas was in the loop and also explained that native forces had taken to the streets and where killing Texas Citizens, they also had an evasion coming in from Mexico. These six Confederates banded together as the remaining members of there once proud unit, now they stood united to defend their home from the slaughter of its people.
Well when it came to this unit of six they did one hell of a job keeping the streets safe from the native and Mexican threat, they rescued countless citizens and joined alongside other soldiers and mercenaries that had taken to the streets. One thing is for sure you Never Mess With Texas, and these men proved that in spades, and over the next handful of years this band went from town to town helping the locals protect themselves and removing the native stain from there beloved home. Though they had a bigger problem, the federal government had signed a treaty called The Treaty of Denver and thus giving land that was once part of Texas to both the Pueblo Nation (Native American Nations) and former Mexico now Aztec. These men and many others felt betrayed and where angered by the theft of precious Texas land and this only strengthened their resolve to fight and never surrender. Though as the days turned to weeks, months to years these men and the many others that joined alongside went from being freedom fighters to being nothing more then murderers and domestic terrorists in the eyes of the new UCAS. This was also at the point that Edward Davis of the Sons of the True Confederacy was making a call to arms to strike the UCAS in an armed rebellion against the Treaty of Denver and the federal intrusion into the Confederate south.
This unit became one of the first to side with the Confederates and don the grey once more and take up arms in the second Civil War that pitted brother against brother once more. As the war escalated more and more of the southern states where joining the fight and eventually the skirmishes turned into full fledge battles and the war had begun, ripping America into two divided a once great nation. Though during the Civil War the natives where still striking and as well aiding the UCAS. This war lasted for a few years and eventually the battered UCAS surrendered under the might of the Edward Davis and his Confederate forces. The Renegade and the other men of the Texas division where welcomed into the ranks of the SOTC and fully pardoned for any crimes they had committed.
The Renegade stayed on wit his Texas brothers and continued to fight and defend the lone star state from the intrusion of the native forces and striking at the heart of Aztlan. Eventually this original band of mercenaries would be known as the Texas Elite and through the years their numbers would increase, though they would loose many of their brothers in battle but those that survived became true terrors to behold on the battlefield. Eventually this original band would go their separate ways by the early part of 2030 Stamps and Gunslinger made there way to Seattle, and the Renegade would settle down in Houston with the others staying in the fight. Though by this time the fighting was more a boarder skirmish and Edward Davis had called for a temporary cease fire, for he was planning something much bigger and he needed the Texas Elite to stay invisible and forgotten by the public eye.
This is when the Renegade became the law man that we know today, once he temporally retired from the Elite he joined the Star and became on of the most feared officers and eventually one very dangerous detective. This was also when he meet the eye of a young southern belle named Blanche when he was at a charity event hosted by the Chief of the Lone Star. The two courted for a few years and even though Mr. DiCane was hardened and suffering from sleepless nights, this young women wasn’t taken aback even when he would have his fits of rage and anger. She just took it with stride and then on Christmas morning in front of her family since most of his was long gone, he got on bended knee and asked for her hand in marriage. She immediately jumped for joy and screaming Yes for all to hear. Her father sat silent and gave his approving nod and the two embraced each other in a deep hug as her father said in a deep southern draw “Welcome to the family my boy.”
Not long after the announcement went into the papers “Announcing the engagement of Michael DiCane and Blanche Davis.” By the summer of 2035 the stage was set for the wedding event of the year in the south, The President of the Sons of the True Confederacy’s eldest daughter was to marry a Texan Lone Star Detective. This event was heralded throughout as many of the who’s who in the Confederate American States government, military and mercenaries where in attendance. Also in attendance where members of the Freedom Patriots and Colonial himself as well as many of Texas Elite and some of the meanest runners of the Seattle scene where there as both guest and security. Needless to say the event went off without a hitch and the media was kept mostly in the dark as to the actual guest list.
After the reception and the honeymoon in Orlando, Mr. DiCane went back to work with the Star and was both a loving husband and brutal detective, he never fully crossed the line, but in those days with the Star you did what you needed to do and no one asked any questions. He was working with his fellow Elite members Hunter and Dallas, these men where the scourge of the law breakers and for the first time in a long time Mike could feel the approving hand on his shoulders from his Father and Grandfather. He also began starting what would become his large family and this made him work harder to keep the streets safe, and he was determined to protect his new family at any cost. Though in the 2040’s he was transferred to a Seattle office of the Lone Star do to them loosing allot of their officers at the hands of the runners during the Judicial Mishap operation.
Mike was not happy about leaving Texas, but duty called and Seattle was full of law breakers needing to be round up and locked up. So he packed up his family and moved to the Emerald City, he bought a house in the Lynnwood district and went straight to work as his wife took to the duties of being a housewife and mother of there growing family. She was with child when they arrived in Seattle and would give birth a few months later, there would be two more children during his tenure in Seattle bringing the total up to seven children. This was a huge burden on a detectives salary and Mr. DiCane was once again put in situation to do the right thing or feed his family, he had been in contact on a number of occasions with a criminal mastermind known as Mr. Black and DiCane knew that if anyone could help him it would this man. He approached Mr. Black on a cold autumn evening with his hands raised and his tin in his pocket, and explained his situation to this man of crime. Though he also insisted that he would never fully cross that grey line otherwise he would do whatever he needed done sans murder for hire. Mr. Black laughed and said “No worries my good man, I have just the man for you to meet.” he then said when I call you answer and do what I ask, I would never intentionally put you our your family in jeopardy.
DiCane agreed and asked who he was to meet, Mr. Black said in do time my good man, I need to make a few calls first. Go into the office like normal tomorrow and ask no questions are we clear. DiCane just nodded and Mr. Black patted him on the chest and slipped a credit stick into his jacket pocket. Then he told DiCane to go home and be a father, your real job starts tomorrow. As he drove home the entire time he was questioning what he had just done and had he gone to far. Had he crossed the line unable to return, he reluctantly pulled the credit stick out of his breast pocket while at a stop light and hit the display button to see ten thousand credits displayed. He was just given a third of his salary for just meeting with Mr. Black at this point he heart began to skip a beat and fear was setting in as to what he had done. DiCane went home hugged his wife and kissed his children goodnight as he got ready for bed early and tried to sleep but the days events haunted him and he was unsure what Mr. Black had in store for him come morning.
In the morning he got up early, showered and dressed and left for the office before any of his family was awake fearing what was in store for him he walked in the front doors only to be greeted by his Captain standing their with his arms crossed, his collar unbuttoned and tie loosened with a scowl on his face. “Detective DiCane, I have no idea who or what you did, but whatever it was I just got my ass chewed out by the Brass and they want you partnered ASAP with Detective Sargent Benjamin Mathews.” DiCane just looked at his Captain with shock and said nothing. After that Mathews stepped out of the bathroom and told DiCane lets roll out, I am in charge and you do exactly as I say. DiCane just nodded and Mathews returned with your learning, I think we will make a good team you and I.
This was how DiCane’s life went for the next handful of years, he would patrol the zones busting snitches and dealers for information. They would apply pressure on those that Mr. Black needed squeezed and they would fabricate evidence on those that where obviously guilty only to get them to confess to a lesser crime and then the fake evidence and charges would vanish. This was eating at DiCane’s conscience and he wasn’t sure how much longer he could handle this. Even though he was being paid well by Black, the more he accepted Blacks money the deeper he felt owned and the longer he worked with Mathews the more dirty he felt. Eventually he was done and wanted out, Mathews told him sorry partner once inside the walls no one gets out. You either retire, or you die and he tapped his side arm. If you retire DiCane you keep that trap of yours closed or you will find out how long Mr. Blacks reach is, you will have nowhere safe to hide you understand. DiCane again nodded his head and stuck with his partner for another handful of years, though by 2060 he was done being Mr.Blacks lackey and being bullied by Mathews. He went to talk to his friend from the Elite the Gunslinger and even he just shook his head and said my friend, this was beyond even the Elites control. “If you needed help financially, why didn’t you see Dixie or for crying out loud your father-in-law before approaching Mr. Black?” DiCane just responded “Damn Texas Pride.” the Gunslinger shook his head saying understandable it gets the best of us. He then shook his hand and said I recommend retirement it will be safer for you in the long run, think of your family.
So in the spring of 2060 he put his papers in for retirement, and walked away from being a Detective, walking away from the devil in black and his tormentor Detective Mathews. His wife and children were happy to have him home, but this didn’t last long cause once his father-in-law heard of his retirement he felt that DiCane was not done serving the cause down in Texas and serving the Confederacy. He appointed DiCane to be the private guard for Senator August Prichard and this meant that he would be on the rode and travelling around the country. He once again packed up his family and moved back to Texas, though a few of his elder children had already established themselves in Seattle or had gotten married and stayed behind. Though for this Family man he would never stay apart from his kin for to long. Though working for Senator Prichard was very time consuming, and kept him on the rode or in the Federal District for weeks at a time. This is also when he learned the dark secret of the Deaths Hands involvement within the SOTC and he went from dealing with a Devil in Black to Dealing with a Devil in White. Once he saw that the Professor was involved with Senator Prichard he got sick to his stomach. He knew he would be forced to strike a deal with that man, and Mr. Black was bad the Professor was worse.
As he had feared by 2065 the devil in white had approached DiCane and made him an offer he couldn’t refuse, the terms of this deal are lost and DiCane said something about an audit being involved if he didn’t play along. During this time the Renegade was forced to come out of retirement as well and be the strong arm for Prichard and break the federal law of the UCAS by entering various government buildings and dealing with security allowing SOTC deckers inside to steal sensitive data. He was also forced in 2072 to access Aries arms corporate headquarters in Seattle while he was visiting family to let Deaths Hand forces inside using his old Lone Star Security codes. Though by the years end he was released from his guarding of Prichard and the Man in White never returned though he does fear the audit, but he has eventually been able to retire in piece in Texas and be a good Texan Grandfather and Father, though with the war in Seattle and the Patriots and Confederates officially allied his retirement might be short lived.
Though DiCane might seem to be a push over, he is not by any means this man is a tough as nails and as mean as a rattler. He just got himself involved with men who are meaner and have longer reaches they don’t call Mr. Black the Devil in Black or the Professor the Devil in White for no good reason. These two men have a habit of making people and their families disappear if they are upset and once they get there hands on you, you are owned for life. Otherwise this man is a serious combatant and a original member of the Texas Elite, he is also close friends with Dixie the second in command of the entire SOTC and the CFS president is his father-in-law. So besides the two devils, there isn’t many alive today that can stand in the way of the Renegade if he choose to take up arms against them. Also this man is a legendary detective and his skills at information gathering and his list of contacts runs very deep, though he still has to worry one day the phone will ring at either devil will be on the other end ready to call in another favour and you just don’t say no to those men.
